Have you ever had a weird discussion with a lube tech about how Subaru isn't really Australian (despite those Outback commercials of yore?)  Have you had a passenger say something quote worthy?  Gotten a thumbs up (or down?!?) from a random passerby on the street?

Well, we've got a place to discuss that. ;)

Yesterday was a busy day with racing & motorsports taking part in both Edmonton & Calgary!

Up in Edmonton we had the ASA Winter-x Event #3 out on the plowed/snowed/melted/eventually icy taxiway.

Down in Calgary there was the Spec R Test & Tune No. 2 at Race City Motorsports Park.

You know what these events all had in common?  Other than Snow, Subaru, Fun, motorsports, etc?  They were announced/posted/advertised in the WSC "Events" subforum.  Why not poke around and see if there's something that interests you.  Auto-x, Time Attack, Rally-X, Trackdays, and even concerts.  And if you're hosting/promoting an event, don't forget to post it here for WSC'ers to find out about. ;)

They might not be mandatory, yet... PDF Print E-mail

But Winter tires are the best mod you can make for the snowy months.  They help you get going, get stopped and get turned.  Just AWD isn't going to help you if you're running summer tires in 12" of snow.

But how do you know which ones are good?  You can read reviews in magazines and online, and boring shows like "Motoring 2000"...  But you never know if they're dealing with the same roads/conditions/vehicle as you are...

Thankfully, there's an entire community of people right here who are using the same car & driving the same roads.  ;)  Every fall the discussion starts again, and in fact it's been going since 2008!

(And the right tires will help out when it's time to play at rally-x or winter-x too. ;))

What would you do if you had a dyno appointment, but didn't have any tires that would be allowed on the dyno?  What would you do if you needed to install a part, but didn't know how?  What if you live in a condo, but need a place to swap some parts on your car?

Don't be afraid to ask!  There have been many amazing cases of WSC members helping each other out, and it's pretty cool!

v5 STI

(I bought these goldies wrapped in a/s tires, gave the tires to a WSC member who needed them, swapped on my winters, used 'em, popped 'em, and got another set of a/s tires from another WSC member when I needed some. Oh, and those wheels+a/s tires are currently lent to another WSC member who needed 'em.  ;))

You know what's even better than a DIY? PDF Print E-mail

It's even better when someone DIY's something & gets their hands dirty, while also snapping some nice pics & explaining why.  It helps build up a knowledge base and helps everyone on the fourms "level up" their wrenching ability.
