Title: Dyno day?
Post by: 97STB on September 23, 2013, 07:09:49 PM
Apparently Stealth Performance in Stony Plain, AB has an AWD dyno. I wouldn't mind getting my Subaru dyno'd to see where it's at.
I was wondering if anybody might be interested in doing a Subaru dyno day? Maybe this fall or early next spring? I have messaged them to ask about prices and can post here once I get a reply.
Anybody interested?

Wow that blows!!!

So it's just a 2WD dyno?

not sure who you talked to but I was told it is a awd dyno and they are willing to entertain a dyno day. I asked if a AWD dyno day would be something they are interested in and I was told yes. Looking at 10-15 cars max and 3 runs each, price is still not available yet as it was just 1 email.

Wow great news!

We have at least 15 guys in this thread that are interested so if you could get a price that would be great!

I will work on things, realistic I think doing this in the spring when summer tires are on and most people are done working on their cars over the winter. I will talk with them and see how they would like to go about this and bring the info forward. I would like to see some evo's show up and other awd cars if possible

I live pretty close also.

Ya I was thinking spring too
I just want to see what numbers I would make that's all

Do you have to get tuned on a dyno or can u just find out your current numbers?
I would only trusst Sunny for a tune

A variety of cars would be great!

Just tripped across this, not sure how I missed it when it started... I'd be down for sure... I've been really interested to get my car on and see first hand what a Rob's 550 makes around here, as I'm sure a lot of people are as well... I'll keep my eyes on this but I'd love to join in the fun come spring time

I called these guys.  I just googled stony plain dyno and had bit of adrenaline going, they've only got a mustang dyno.

I'm still in if dyno day goes through and I agree with the spring schedule when were all tuned up.

Well I stopped in there for a quick look on the way for groceries, it's a Dynojet AWD nice shop everything new.  Guy asked if I was the one who emailed from WSC I said no whoever emailed will coordinate (assume that was Funk32).  He doesn't want anything blowing up on his dyno making a mess of the shop!!  LOL it's a nice setup there.

Well if they sound like a pricky-dicky , this could be a muscle car performance shop. Anybody who talked to a muscle car person knows what im talking about. The condescending type that thinks that the muscle car is the best car in the world and looks down on you. Since its located in stonyplain area where lots of 4x4 trucks and camaro type car resides, I wont be surprised if this is the case.

Id probably be interested. And as for what turbolag said, it would also just be that he just built this shop and he doesn't want any cars blowing up on the dyno. There are a lot of "muscle car" people that are just car people. Do I have a project mustang? Yes, I guess that makes me a muscle car guy. But I also have a WRX and love it as well, so I guess im an import guy too. More people need to stop getting all butt hurt about different groups of car people, and just do what we all enjoy.

More that it's a new shop. And why would he want to clean oil and fluids off his new dyno. I can't see any one wanting to do that.

Although you take precautions before you go you still can't 100% control if your car blows up or not

Ya I know but you should have a good indication of how it's running.

Sorry I did contact them but I am away (yay army) so I didnt follow up on this. Main thing is we need to find out how many people are willing to do this, he said 10 cars would be about max since there is setup time and 3 pulls.

Sounds like from the interest it might be a 2 day thing
Title: Re: Dyno day?

lol, interest and actually paying and doing are 2 different things as I have seen in the community. I don't think they would go for 2 days since that takes up a lot of their time also. 10 cars and a people coming in for a meet would be good enough I think. if there is enough interest I wouldn't do any pulls just to see others go.

It really would be nice to see a meet and dyno day there! I would definitly be interested to see what difference of number from Sunnys dyno  to this one.  8)

So... Looking at the forecast I think this could happen in the next few weeks if the fellows setting it up agree. I am very interested and want on the list.

I'm out for this unless later in summer. Even then, I think I'd rather spend the money on track days or mods than seeing the difference from sunnys dyno.

I'd love to see what some of the 550s make on it however.
