Ah, Grasshopper's first trip to Moab...
- Slickrock is fun, but beware vertical rock faces
- Poison Spider is about as difficult as Powderface Short Loop
- Beware the Green Chili Burrito!!!!!!
- All beer is light beer [3.5%], even if labelled otherwise

I'm thinking Truckee and Downieville in September.  Ooh-rah!

moab is a huge section of rails in the states that ranges from lvl 1 rated trails all the way to lvl 5 (the hardest out there type level) rated trails. tis a insanely fun time.

Bring your sunscreen, and a bunch of tubes!!! I tried slicks one day, and learned that I can't actually ride!

Sunny is a Moab rider as well, if you wanted more tips.  :ugeek:

Have a great time, K.

I'm already trying to get on the road as much as possible so that my legs will be in shape for early April.

I used to ride semi slicks on my hard tail but realized the reduced rolling resistance and increased acceleration wasn't worth the death speed out of control downhills on Edmonton slime.

You'll likely be (and should be) doing the Porcupine Rim trail, right?  As a loop, the 1st half is on Sandflats road and is now well maintained so it it a bit boring but it is a good "warmup" :)   We are too cheap to pay for a shuttle.  A few years ago, a trail was added to the upper portion of the Porcupine Rim (UPS trail, I think) that effectively extends the down hill section of the trail.  Last time that we were there, we chose to ride to the UPS trail head instead of shuttling up from town.  Won't make that mistake again.  The effort involved in getting to the UPS trail head surpassed the reward.

Gain 50 ft-lbs, ask me how! :-)
