The House Special @ Uncle Eddie's
« on: March 25, 2010, 08:09:18 am »
As some of you know, I recently joined a band in Calgary.  The band is called The House Special and our next gig is April 16 and 17 at Uncle Eddie's at The Inn on Crowchild.  We go on at 9pm each night.

Here's a map showing the location:

I'm a metal head at heart, but I love other genres too and am always looking for something new.  You just made it easier for me.

You guys sound great, I could definitely crank that in my car.  What do you play in the band?

I play bass and cover some backing vocals when necessary/possible.

Although metal, especially anything from the 80s, is my main listening preference, I'll play nearly anything that has a catchy bass line and makes me smile. ;)

In case you're wondering, or didn't find it on the MySpace page, we will probably play songs by Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters, Dwight Yoakam, Gram Parsons, Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Doors, Tom Petty, Neil Young, Radiohead, The Tragically Hip and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

And maybe some Cake, Pearl Jam, The Who, Guess Who or Big Sugar.

We've got a handful of originals that we'll play as well!

As discussed last night...count me in!

Looking forward to watching you sweat in your bar debut. ;)

I'm returning from a business trip on the 16th, so may not be able to make that day.  If not, 17th for sure.

I'm going to refer to that weekend as the Comeback Show!  So long since I played in a bar!  There've been New Year's shows, jam sessions and company events but no 'gigging'.  It's great to be playing with a group of guys that want to gig!

Thanks for all the replies!

Awesome!  Steph too?

Nope, no cover, just a mean lookin' dude at the door, so no funny business!

We had a good night last night, couple little hiccups but the wheels never came off the cart!
