I'd say you're thinking of the Tein "Basic" and Tein "Super Street" dampers.  The Flex is the lowest model that Tein refers to as being "Street / Track" http://www.tein.com/products/index.html...

Or at least that's what I'd like to convince myself. :P

Oh well, i guess the Mono-flex is back on the table as an option for the s2k.

The RA's are pretty weak for the price they go for. If you got a decent set of flex's for under $1k, they're okay. But they're a bit of a ripoff when people pay close to $2k for them.

Almost looks bronze in some of those pictures...
Those wheels make your car looked JACKED UP, compared to the stockers.

They look really big due to the spoke design.

Spoken like someone who know how much I paid for 'em. ;)  ($1k including the 27mm FSB)

It's the morning light, combined with the smoke. It made everything look very warm.  And it's part of the reason I headed out to take the pics.

Those wheels make your car looked JACKED UP, compared to the stockers.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.  Quote from Soobie's build thread below.

And I'm more interested in "go" than "show". People running coilovers with "stock" alignment specs bugs me... They have no idea how a Subaru comes alive with 3-3.5 degrees of negative camber in the front... and 0.5-1 degrees in the rear. People with $3k coilovers and cheap all season tires bugs me. I did tires & swaybars at stock ride height... and I took flack for it from the "looks" people. But my car handled great, and didn't get bumped to a different class.

Is that better than the RPF1's that always look like they're 1" smaller than they actually are?  :P

Oh, the weirdest thing happened while I was parking.  I had a random guy ask me if my fronts were 9" wide, and then if they were 245 or 255, and then if I had any rubbing.

I said no rubbing, not even at autox, since I'm still at stock ride height.

He then explained that his s2k was lowered quite a bit, but he still wanted to do 255's.  I said there was probably some fender rolling in his future then.

Never got around to asking the pointed question about *why* he would want/need 255 fronts if he's not tracking/autoxing.  But I guess I'm rocking the "cool" setup to have on s2ki at the moment. :P

Yea, but I'm talking Gallery threads like "Show off your meaty tires & non-staggered setups"...  Not the wheel & tire, or handling, or "Racing & Competition" subforums...

Lots of replies with stupid levels of camber to let them run rideheights w/ no suspension travel.  Or people saying they need to lower their car, or that someone else needs to lower theirs...  :P

Yup, they are.  I'm just holding out hope that the Moton/Penske fairy will visit me and save me from all this comparison shopping.  :P

Send the Moton fairy my way -- I'll let you deal with the Penske mounting issues (talk to Corey).

Like you said before, same tire size front/back gives you the ability to rotate the tires.

Agreed, which is why he's running 245's all around at the moment. :P

Here is a wheel that had me laughing: http://www.flickr.com/photos/rkarla_lim/4925115338/in/set-72157624801239238/

Center cap reads "DUB" -- but that sucker has to be about 30" at least, and it took two people to move it at around.  Kumho may have sponsored the event, but they have some silly ideas.  Look at the S2000 that they parked in front of the tents.

To bring the thread back to Subies, I did find it strange that the Subies didn't wake up and kill us all on Sunday -- it was wet and slippery almost all day, but the Subies just didn't shine.  No idea why...

It got you talking about it, so I guess it was partly successful. ;)

As for the I happen to like the look of the Spoon front bumper (and the hardtop), but maybe that's an age thing. :P

Not a clue... Any locals should presumably be familiar with wet situations. :P

Perhaps some age, and some peronal taste.  I really, really liked the hardtop and the hood.  The bumper and rear fender "stuff" just looked like crap to me.

BTW -- hardtops (e.g. S2000 CR) suck.  No choice about top up or top down while on a cruise.  Don;t go that route...

Hmm...  Mind you, I was pretty stoked on Sunday.  I lost the shootout by only 3/1000 second, so at least I know that I can drive a car once in a while :)

That thought's gone through my mind thinking about poor George driving up for our events.  He doesn't get to enjoy having the top down on the highway...  Unless he wants to make the (fairly big) gamble that there won't be any inclement weather across the majority of the province for an entire day. :P

So, do you still drive top-down mid-November before the temperature dips and the white stuff starts falling?
They're going to park their car over there. You're going to park your car over here. Get it?

1) Drive in snow in convertible, top down.
2) Claw mans up
3) ???
4) Profit!
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.
If you're having forum problems, I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but your post ain't one.

LOL!  The answer is "YES"!  Top down in the rain, top down in mid-winter, top down for ... (was gonna make a comment about sex, but that just doesn't work in a stook)

I think there are some shots of me getting towed out of a snowbank at Namao with my top down.  Owning a convertible is the best thing I could have imagined in my life -- with the exception of racing!
