255 ? I mounted 275/40r17 A6's today on George's stock wheels, 245/40r17 on the front.

Does the CR have more fender clearance ?

Possibly, or I'm just hamstrung by the STR rules which limit tires to 255.

Grats!

Took a ride in an S2K around RCMP last week and it was a blast. One of the funnest cars I've ever been in. Now I'm looking for one also.

Congrats man!

you know I love S2K's after autoslaloming with Murray in his in 2 series, and I have been close to picking one up myself!

Mine's an AP1 as well (9000 redline)

Quote
we ran Kuhmo V710 255 in the rear and 225 in the front.  but the R comp sizes seem a little off.

for street tires, 225 in the front and 245 in the rear.

Since I got the bigger sway bar, I have switched over to equal size tires front and rear (225 for streets, 245 for r-comps).

I think this pic says it all...

It's pretty much *all* within the wheel base.  Engine, yup.  Tranny, yup.  Driver, yup.  Gas tank, yup.  Rear diff, yup.  Spare freaking tire, yup!

In ST you can roll but not flare.  So yes, I can make the inside flat as can be!

I'll bring it whenever you need it.  Congrats on the car!!! ;D

I had no idea they packed everything into the center of the car like that.  Low moment of inertia anyone?  I bet that car rotates like nobody's business :)

You appear to have a go-kart with a 9k redline on your hands, sir.

Wow, I always wondered where the length came from.  I knew that most of everything was between the wheels, but wow. Grant look over there....

Modified Mag has been doing some major work on a project s2k.  Don't know if you have a subscription (probably everyone here does... :D) but you might be able to follow it online.

Yea, but they're starting w/ a salage/theft/written-off car to build an unlimited time attack car. :P

I'm building to a specific set of rules for my auto-x class.

"Read the rulebook" should always be step 1. ;)

Great choice of car. I thought Suzuka Blue was the rarest of all the colours, but I guess I've confused that with another.

I've sat in an S2K a few times now and I really love how all the controls are at perfect proportion to my body. I don't have to think about leaning around or reaching out of my seat to fiddle with stuff, it just is there and gets flicked. The shifter is at the exact right spot and so are the pedals.

I'll have to keep an eye out for it on the street. Are you going to put a WSC sticker on it and offend the Honda faithful?

edit: I'd throw on the Spoon hardtop but it's really hard to get ahold of and probably won't do much to help your autocross times. I just think it makes the car look incredible.

From what I've heard, it's a pain in the assay to fit on the car.

And it's just weight.

If anything I'd delete the softtop & do the CR top & then take it off for the track. :P

^--- if I was doing weight reduction.  which i'm not.

The wife & I are undecided... It's almost going to be a coin toss.  The black looks good w/ the windshield surround/top.  But it doesn't photograph well and makes the OEM brakes look bad.  The grey looks good, but too close in tone to the paint (in these pics), it's also a little too "stock" looking.

Vote!

B:

BTW, a visit to the scales shows 1260kg (w/o driver, but with ~1/2 tank, spare, toolkit, etc)

I vote black for wheels.  The brakes may look worse, but when you go to aftermarket pads, the piles of brake dust that collect on the wheels will be much less obvious.

P.S.: I like PBR Ultimate pads for autocross
