I vote black for wheels.  The brakes may look worse, but when you go to aftermarket pads, the piles of brake dust that collect on the wheels will be much less obvious.

Good call.  Is that why your OEM wheels are painted black?

P.S.: I like PBS Ultimate pads for autocross

Thanks for the tip, but they'll stay OEM for now.

Ask Nick to look at his, I believe he has the gray ones and they are much darker than the picture. Certainly not close
to the light blue in my opinion.

Good point!  His TR's are likely the same paint.

B looks great.  A is too close to the same colour saturation and hue as the car, not sure if that makes sense to anyone else but me.  Words are failing me.

How about some STI BBS's?  ;)

Nice new project car Grant, I would go with the (B) wheels.
Its always hard to judge it when you can't see it in person though so (A) may look better if they are infact darker than your originally mentioned.

All in all, can't wait to see you tearing up the track with this new beast

Black for me!
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.

Look what I found !

I say gray because they are darker than silver, and I don't like black wheels in general.

And here it is on a color that you know...just for reference.

I have changed sides. I now go with (A) grey!  8)

Either way they will look good. I find it odd how the grey paint adds an additional 0.4 pounds to the wheel.  ???

Is that the only two choices?  Surely there must be other wheels that are lighter and offer more colour selection?

Between the two choices provided: I am not a big fan of black rims, so I say go with the grey.

I would go Dark Grey if the spokes are thick, or Flat Black if the spokes are thin.

Have you looked at 949 wheels? Lighter, stronger and more color options than the TRs. http://949racing.com/ They're very well liked among Miata racers as that was their initial market. The shop is quite track focused, they're don't care about looks or any of that crap, they care about what is fast.

Of your selection I would go with grey.

Here's a tip: Less spokes = easier to clean

I love my wheels but man they are pain to clean.

I did, but they're more $ (same weight for 17x9") and not avail as quickly or from Tire Rack.

They're a bit lighter than the TRs. The TRs are 18.8/19.2 lbs while the 6ULs are 18.0 lbs for the same offset. I doubt 1 lb would make a huge difference though, selecting the right tire would save you more weight than that.
