Hitch Rack Deal
« on: August 17, 2010, 08:43:55 am »
Bought a Kuat Sherpa 2 bike rack from Hitch Depot in Red Deer.  They're selling it for $395 + taxes, which is still $100 less than everywhere else.  Racks for Cars in Edm has it for $495, as does a few bike shops in Vancouver.

Good construction, it's light and sturdy.

They're going to park their car over there. You're going to park your car over here. Get it?

Those Kuat's are indeed a solid rack.  The DH one with the bike repair stand attachment is a bloody tank.
You aren't mistaken; this post was solid gold.

Yep, that NV (the DH one) is $595 regular, and these guys have it for $495.   They only have the 2" receiver left though.

And they're made from aluminum so they're lighter than the Thule T2.  You can get a repair stand for the Sherpa as well, they go for about $50 on ebay.

The weight of the Thule and Yakima racks was one of the reasons I bought a Raxter.
