Project Harmony : going going GONE
« on: January 19, 2008, 12:55:28 pm »
Ok, so here's my attempt at a "Progression of my Wagon" thread. I'll be keeping any updated information in the first post. Pictures will be in the second and third posts. Hope you guys like where I'm heading with this car, essentially, what I'm hoping to do is build my own interpretation of what the STi wagon should look like.  Along with the mod list, I'll also supply the part numbers (if available) in red so others know exactly what to order if they're wanting to do the same mod(s).  Some might not like it, some might... Post any sugestions or queries on any of the mods. I will be trying to to create DIY threads on Nasioc for some of the not very well documented mods, or who knows, maybe I'll do it here and link them to this tread.

thanks GrantC.. yeah, I think the thing I'm most excited about the mod is that now when I wash the car, I don't have to wash/dry the car around those rails.. should save me like.. ummm 3.5 mins worth or work.. lol  8-) all for almost 6hrs worth of modding

^^^thanks man..

yeah.. the guy who took my money tonight at the bar letf his camera (D2 w/ supporting lenses)... so... I'm gonna get a few shots of the look for the car before he gets his camera back.... hehhe... can't wait to get some photo's.

but.. i've still got to get 3 clips for the roof rails.. cause I broke one outta fourteen during the removal.. and damnit all to hell.. even if i didn't break any of them, i'd still be short 2 clips... ah well.. i guess i'll still have to remove them once again until the summer.

***edit.. sorry.. its a drunk posting.. so please ignore the drunk dialect.. ***

so would any of you edmonton/calgary guys be able to go to a dealership and get some of those roof rail clips sent out to me.. I'd pay for shipping/parts and add a little for your time :D I need 3 clips as posted above..

I've got the 3 clips coming in the mail from Victoria, it was sooo nice, the parts department in Vic where I bought the car and all the gaskets for turbo swap are sending me them for free, so I must be patient young jedi.. until that happens.. I can't install the rails (not cause they won't go on) but, they are such a pain in the butt to remove and not break clips or damage the trim, i'd rather do it the least amount of times as possible.

ok, so finally I received the clips in the mail, also I had my friend come by with his Nikon D3.. so.. after installing the clips in the moderate temperature climate we've been getting, here's how she turned out.. without roof rails :D Another note, I removed the Rota's, due to the car sitting in one place for so long, I was worried that it might warp a wheel, so I moved them indoors.

Also.. what a pain in the butt, I updated my firmware on my AP.. and had HUGE issues recognizing my current map, so after discussing my situation with Cobb, I finally figured out how to proceed with fixing my situation.  With all the pain that I've been recieving from the AP, I'm really starting to think I'll be heading another direction when it comes to tuning.  I've got the Tactrix cable, Enginuity software, and hopefully local tuning support (airboy) to get this car running correctly.

Next week I'm meeting with the local SnapOn dealer and picking up the tools necessary to swap the intake manifold, turbo, and intercooler.  So.. hopefully in the next few weeks I'll have some more updated photo's of the engine bay.. :D

And before any of you ask.. yes.. the house in the background is on wooden blocks.. All of the PMQ's (military housing) complexes across the street are being sold and moved intact to alternate locations.. man oh man.. its quite the feat of engineering moving those things, also, it looks quite weird when traffic is being held up by a PMQ trying to go through an intersection in the middle of the day.. lol

****EDIT****

Also, forgot to mention... I also received some extra "bling" for my wheels.. I really didn't like the look of the stock center caps on the wheels I purchased due to peeling clearcoat, so, I got some new ones made for me, I really like how they turned out, they almost appear to be OEM in fitment except for the obvious color difference.  Jutes_85 calls me a ricer for them, but, meh... I like'em so thats all that matters :P

This is one of many STi emblems that are going on the car. I think that when he'll be done, that wagon will have more STi emblems, stickers and decals then what a stock STi has.

The "new" setup I will be running is an '06 VF39, '06 STi TMIC, and '07 STi intake manifold.  The old parts are going to be held on to, due to warrantee issues if I need servicing done.

no.. as you already know, I will have I believe 17 less than a stock STi.. The ones I won't have;

-extra STI emblems embossed into the wheels x8[/color:1s7lqfcq]
-Steering wheel airbag
-Exhaust tip
-front fog light covers 2
***EDIT***
-floor mat emblems x2
-front seats x2
-gauge cluster[/color:1s7lqfcq]

:P

thanks Jutes btw.. you kept your comments reasonable, but, even tho your car has most of the emblems removed, you still will have WAY more emblems tucked and hidden around your car.

Awesome. you got more pics!

Looks sweet with rail delete 8)

Sounds like I will be following your path soon minus the turbo and manifold.   Waiting for Exhaust and got Tacktrix cable handy for logging.  Hoping for stage 2 soon!

nice.. just be prepared to have a little extra lag from the turbo if you do a STi TMIC.. that was the first thing I noticed (but I was only at OTS Stg1).

hopefully in July I should be getting my license back, so once that happens, I'll be traveling to Edmonton a whole bunch in search of the wagon mafia.

yes I know its a double post, and that I have WAY too much wheel gap (uneven ground too).. but, here's the latest development.  New JDM STi door badges :D
