Yea, it's good oil.

I use it in my race bike; that engine spends it's life between 10,000 and 16,000rpm.
I may scream like a dainty lady, but I punch like a fairly strong 11-year-old.

Thank you for the informative thread!  I haven't run any oil analysis but I am now on my second round of T6 5W40 in my STi.  It's good to know there are others running it year round because I just changed the oil and I was having second thoughts about running it in the winter.

I have another sample that I need to mail off. The car is at 90,000 miles and this sample has somewhere around 5,000 miles on it.

A little late but...

On your last approx. 3 samples did you end up changing the filter on any of them?

Yes, on all of them. I always change my filter when I change my oil.

Worth mentioning - Rotella T6 is now available in 0W-40.

API SN service classification. It's slightly thinner than the 5W-40 at all temps, but still thicker at operating temp than Mobil 1 5W-30.

I haven't really noticed a difference in cold starts. Engine might be less groany at less than -20. Could also be my imagination. Same price as 5W-40, and strikes me as a "may as well" for winter use.

It also looks exactly like the 5w40 in every other way...

I accidentally bought a jug of it.

Ohh, that's nice to hear. Will be switching to that for winter months.

any good deals on this oil?

A quick glance at the Super Deals subforum, brings up this thread that seems to get updated regularly whenever someone finds a deal on Rotella T6.
