Last few parts arrived today, and as long as the parts that I had welded are done tomorrow the car will be running.

new replacement rim from CCW came in today and fountain tire was nice enough to put it on for free :)

new KSTech 76mm CAI also came in today

and a custom made heat shield for the axle from MSI

SO if all goes right the car will be out and about tomorrow evening.

Well I guess its time for the update...

I was able to get everything on the car on Tuesday, worked all day and was pretty sore afterwards, I went to flash the safe tune on the car and ran into an issue, the drivers for the tactrix cable do not work in windows 8 lol so I have call a friend to come help me out. Once he arrived I was able to get the map on and car started, I only started it and let it run for 2 mins as it ran like crap and I didn't have any more time to deal with the car.

Wednesday morning - I started bright and early and sorted a few things out on the car before starting it again. once I started it I was able to located all the issues. I had a oil leak from the oil feed fitting to the turbo, so I tried a few ways and nothing held the pressure so I got some hi temp silicone and she is not leaking anymore. Also I had 2 exhaust leaks, one in the turbo area and was able to tighten the connection there and then another exhaust leak at the header to uppipe which was also easy to fix by tightening up the bolts. The last leak was the Tial BOV the spring I had was too weak and would open too soon causing the motor to go on a Hunting trip from 800rpm-1500rpm and could not sort itself out, so lucky me they sent 2 other springs with it and I was able to install them which fixed that situation.

Now with all the leaks fixed and parts tight it was time to let her warm up and check everything, well this went somewhat well with the trusty laptop to check things out I had some extremely bad misfires going on about 24 per cylinder per cycle which is not good at all, so I thought it could be a few things, new plugs were not gaped properly or maybe I missed a step installing the new coilpacks or some how all 4 injectors decided to die lol... well I took a chance and took the car for a small run (500m out and back) and sure enough it sorted itself out so my thoughts are the injectors were sticky from sitting for 6 months.

After the car was running and not wanting to kill itself I tackled the suspension/tire fitment, with 255/35-18's she didn't want to go over bumps very well lol the rears were way too low without having rolled my fenders so I raised the rear by about 3/4-1 inch and now I can go over most bumps but no at speed, with some help I will have the rear fender rolled this weekend and maybe later today when I do my alignment I'll add a few extra deg of camber.

So the drive home was pretty event full lol I blew a intercooler pipe off while on the highway trying to test her out a bit, hit 8psi and pop and coast to the side of the road. quickly check all the connections and sure enough it was the driver side pipe under the car lol so I was on the side of the hwy squeezing my arms under the car with a deep 10mm socket and ratchet trying to fix it while rush hour traffic blows by me. So today I will be going out to get a longer coupler and some more clamps to ensure this doesn't happen again.

Tomorrow is the Big day I head down to see Sunny and let him work is magic, goal is 400wtq and what ever HP it takes to get there lol I would love to get 400/400 but i don't think its do able without a restricter.

this was a long post so thanks for reading it all.

Hope you didn't block the line off!
Not the greatest way to fix a hardline leak, did you use new copper washers?

I wouldn't dyno with that... I would look into a new line or something that will fit properly.

THE LINE IS NOT LEAKING .... the fitting that goes on the turbo did not seal on the turbo side there is no crush washer that will fit that location as seen in the picture in this thread http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2289181 ... I added the hi temp silicone to the threads and it no longer leaks. I have pushed the car to 10PSI (WG pressure) today and no issues, I know the pressure will not get any greater then that since the oil pump wont go any higher and I drove the car for 4 hours today going in and out of boost to check everything and make sure I had no leaks. if the silicone doesn't hold up to higher boost=higher temps then so be it but as of right now she is holding and has no sign of failing.

maybe vex has a spare laying around ill email them just in case this one does spring that little leak again and by little it looked like condensation around the fitting.

Ah alright I was thinking something different.
is there not a high temp teflon tape or something like that?
I'd say that might work pretty well

I am not sure on what temperatures you are talking but normal teflon tape is good to about 150C beyond that you want to use something like Loctite 567 is good to about 200C. After that we use a petroleum  based Teflon like Petro-Tape its good to 260C. Beyond that usually use a gasket or something that does not rely on the threads for a seal. That just my experience on working on industrial boilers (5600kPag 300C) I will look from something with a larger temperature range.

Loctite 567

Petro Tape

Well I am willing to bet the hot side was over 150 today I dont have a heat gun to say how hot it actually was but like I said 4 hours of driving at high way speed going in and out of boost so 80-110km/h ish I am sure it was pretty damn hot.

either way if it does not hold up, Ryan @ Vex says they should have one in-stock so if need be ill pick one up and install it and hopefully carry on with the tune.

Well i'm sure some of you are looking for an update, well Its great, short story is we could not complete the tune due to a few issues the main one being the charge pipe blowing off. also for some reason my GS boost controller decided not to work properly and luckily Sunny had a manual boost controller to try and keep going. but in the end after 10 hours Sunny called it and good thing cause would have slept on the dyno tonight lol. Thank You Sunny for all the hard work today and long hours.

so back to the drawing board, find out where the vac leak is (pretty sure its from one of my intake spacers) and to deal with the IC piping... maybe V-band connections?

either way she is back on WG pressure and not likely idle anymore due to this leak.

and yes the fitting held and did not leak what so ever.

only thing that made me happy today is 1) the motor is still running 2) on my way back I seen a SUV on 20's pulling a trailer on the side of the road missing the front passenger wheel completely gone lol shity for them but i needed to see something like that today.

next try at this tune thing will be after i come back in Aug lol

10am-7pm pretty close to 10hours lol

Jutes I had T clamps and worm gear clamps both type let go today...  Most of the issue was because there was no lip or beed for the clamp to hold, but that last one blew right off the aps intercooler.

well today I went to go work on the car, remove some parts to get ready to install better parts. Well when I went to jack the car up i noticed there was some grease on the passenger side ...hmm what could this be i thought to myself, well I got the wheels off and started to look around and get ready to take off the steering rack I found the issue, The inner axle boot is ripped and all the grease is on the frame which was flung onto the side of the car FML.

things to do,

remove uppipe (snapped bolts off trying to remove the turbo) have bolts extracted
remove headers and replace studs
remove engine cradle to be replaced
install helicoil into head for intake manifold bolt
remove bumper and fmic
buy either new axle or upgrade both to dss axles
