That's an epic shot.
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.

It sucks how due to generalization that a small percentage of drunk hooligans can give an entire fanbase and city a bad name. Its easy to find examples of classless behaviour on the part of any city and use that to portray an entire city in a poor light. Especially if you've got preconceived notions about it.

I agree and disagree.  Rioting has now occured there three times,  and shows me that Vancouver will riot at anything.  I don't think a pattern like that can be minimized to a feww hooligans. That's the town though,  and not neccesarily the Canucks fans.

You don't even know what hockey is, let alone watch it. Your argument is invalid.

From http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/story/2011/06/16/bc-riot-thursday.html

Quote
He said many of the instigators appear to be the same people arrested during the pre-Olympic demonstrations and many came equipped with goggles, gasoline and other tools to create damage.

It has nothing to do with hockey or being a Canucks fan.

I heard that some guys had balaclava's (sp?) in their pockets before they even went to the game. Some people were ready to riot, win or lose.

I really think people like them should be removed from society... permanently.

I cannot figure out how people who live in (arguably) the most beautiful, liveable city in north america can decide to light it all on fire over something this stupid.  What’s going to happen if fuel or food supplies got disrupted for a few days.  Or the power went out.  Or a huge earthquake wiped Richmond off the map?  Seriously, it’s a hockey game.  It doesn’t matter…. Oi….

Just before I moved to Calgary, there was a landslide into Vancouver's main reservoir. Apparently it stirred up a ton of sediment and some E.Coli tests came back positive. We had close to two weeks (IIRC) of a boil water advisory. The water out of the tap was brown, silty, and when you boiled a pot of water, left a cake on the bottom of the pot. For the first few days, everyone was fine. When it didn't stop, people started buying up the water supply at Safeway, etc. There were fist-fights but nothing as out of hand as this.

I actually feel bad for Vancouver. They lost the cup in what was a pretty crappy game (garbage goals, garbage penalties) and now the team gets associated with a bunch of cockbags that think rioting is cool.

honestly, if they want to riot like they're in a third world country, I wish the police would have treated them as such and opened fire on the crowd.  That would have dispersed them fairly quickly.

This truly is discusting. Am I mistaken or was the guy that helped him up wearing Boston colors (or an old Canucks jersey)?
That really says something.....

I thought it was a Bruins jersey, but apparently, it's the old Canucks jersey.

Unfortunately this picture proves nothing, unless it is accompanied by a written police statement by a witness (like the photographer for example).

snackers had a great caption for that photo.
