I wouldent get one without a tune, Personally, I'd skip an aftermarket one, get an Airboy tune first. or a Cobb A/P (If they make one for the N/A version)

Hop on NASIOC, go to the Naturally Aspirated Dirvetrain Technical section, read all the stickies and report back here with your new question.

The very short answer is that a CAI is not recommended for your car, do to some pretty funky harmonics that make your ECU poop kittens. The hybrid is a cheap effective alternative. (That is, if you believe research backed up by data instead of the slightly less objective "Butt dyno")

A tune and Cams are your best Ft-Lb / $

He does. There are ROMs out for some NA vehicles. 02 Impreza is not one of them :)

But for the 08, I believe he can do some throttle remapping and could scale the MAF if you needed it.

Until you crack the block, there's not much you can do to get much more power out of an NA car.

can you elaborate on that? was he able to do anything about hanging RPM's as well cause that is one annoying feature of this map.

Throttle remapping does not change that but it fixes some annoyances with how the throttle is mapped based on pedal position.
