Those boots are gnarly.

Do y'all know about some of the changes within 3 hours of Calgary?

1. Fernie's building a chair to the to of Cedar bowl.
2. Kicking Horse put in a cat track on top of the ridge off Stairway.

I'm looking forward to getting back out as a beginner boarder (again).

Thank goodness about Stairway. Last season was ridiculous with all the rocks, roots, and bare dirt. My board has few scars...

Newby here; but are you saying Kicking Horse is offering a cat skiing area or have they added a flat run / traverse to get to a certain location.  Trying to figure out the lingo.

Ah, sorry about that.

They've added in a flat section on/off of(?) what was previously a treacherous ski and board eating ridge.  Sure, the rocks, dips and off camber roots kept the noobs out but even on a powder day you had to be willing to get a few gouges for some sweet powder runs.

You aren't mistaken; this post was solid gold.

New winter threads!
Burton AK 2L Cyclic jacket,
Mmm goretex

Mitch's car runs on unicorn blood, its rubber is sourced from the hooves of pegasus', and it drives on rainbows and dreams.
It uses infi-boost, smells like Japan, and is fast as tits.

Nah, bonfire pants, I need a new helmet (my old one stopped my head from being imploded on a tree) and gloves before I can get pants

Nice to hear about the improvements to kicking horse! One of my favorite mountains!

I hope to be there for my annual new year's boarding trip. Stayed near radium 2 years ago and hit up Panorama and Kicking Horse, Ice-o-Rama sucked, but the Horse was amazing.

Anyone else going to Freshtival this year?  On the advice of the shop guy I'm going to the Thursday and Friday shows.  I guess Saturday is for all the jib kids.

Last year's Saturday show was great fun, but I definitely felt old.

I'll be at Absinthe Flims Twe12ve on October 15.

Was invited to Freshtival by a skier friend, I'd like to go check that out too!

!! Cannot wait.  Cold weather is coming..

BTW, I gouged my park board super good last season, all the way through the fiberglass =(.  I was told by a few shops it can't be repaired, but there's gotta be someone who will/can do it..

Any recommendations?

Finally! CPR ridge is too good to pass up, but wrecks your ski's even with a dump of snow.

Fill just over half to 3/4 with epoxy, then ptex on top then sand it down. If the ptex piece is too big it will pop out easy. Then hope for the best

Nobody here likes Revelstoke? It's virtually only a half hour past KH (if you're an early morning leaver like me, I can't afford that many hotels) because of the time change, and there's a great little bar there and a few good cheap hotels.

As far as Sunshine, I heard that the owners son was where his grandpa died, and was way away from the hill, not even on Sunshine property, and was wrongfully removed by ski patrol. (edit - Upon reading that site, it seems that my friend gave me a completely different idea of what went on)

Still seems pretty low to fire that many tenured employees because of one altercation though.

I've ridden Revvy before. Really fun mountain. Great to go for a weekend, but too far for a day trip.

Haha yeah squats didn't help ya at all.

I picked up a different board for this year's terminator.  From a friend that owns a shop out in california i picked up a nitro supernatural with 2 days on it. Gonna be great for bombing down.
