Well I've got about 1750km on the new engine!! And it's running like a dream! But it gets a two week break now as I am in maui with my family for a vacation! It's super nice here and if I'm super lucky when I get back there'll be some snow to have some fun in.

So I got home on Sunday morning and this is what I saw!

So the first thing I did was put my winters on

I'm loving the awd, last winter with my protege was terrible, and this year I can get around so easily

My boost gauge acted up again, it doesn't read boost or vacuum properly and and the gauge sometimes changes colour and my oil pressure gauge reads 15psi low (which I was happy to discover cause 5psi oil pressure wasn't sounding too good haha).
So the awesome people at AEM took care of the problem and sent me a boost and oil pressure gauge free, instead of me sending in my gauges again for warranty! They were super easy to deal with.

Anyway, I'm most likely not going to do much this winter, since I really just want to get the car paid off and start saving for a house. But I will be doing some things here and there. A group n tranny mount for sure and I am always trying to find something cheap to do that will change my car. I want to get my I interior all black instead of half grey, but I don't want to paint the plastic just to have it get scratched up so I'll see what I can come up with.
If anyone has any ideas for cheap fun mods feel free to share them!

But since people love pics I'll put up some random ones.

Photoshop I had done of what What I'd like my car too look like

^Thanks!

Got my new boost and oil pressure gauges in, I actually like the digital ones way better than the analog, and there is no calibration to wait for like on the analog boost gauge.

Ignore the silver bezel on the egt gauge, still need to swap it to black and I need to do a little dusting, haha.

Little Update

I put in a Group N tranny mount and the TIC tranny crossmember bushings. WOW! what a difference. so much of the slop in the drivetrain is gone. i was getting crazy chatter before when taking off especially in reverse but it is completely gone now!

The stock mount is way to soft and lets the tranny to much. I should have done this a long time ago.

Here you can see a mark where that triangle of rubber has been hitting the part of the mount above it, thats how much the tranny moved.

Well there won't be much happening through the winter, as I need to save up some money for some new suspension components.
My car goes clunk clunk thunk at the moment, haha.

So my plans are
Koni inserts with strut extenders on the front
Group n strut mounts
RCE wagon springs
Kartboy endlinks
25mm adjustable front sway bar (wagon)
24mm adjustable rear sway bar

Should go through the turns quite well after that and it'll get rid of the lovely wheel gap in the front.

If anyone has any suggestions feel free to say, I'll be doing this in spring so I can still change my mind if there is a better setup.

And a random pic from my phone for the pic lovers

Apparently my driver rear door can't get dirty. I haven't done anything before this that's actually how it looked

Unless they recently discontinued them they should still be available. They were discontinued but they brought them back a little while ago.

Cleared my headlights and painted the bezels satin black today, also did a restore kit on the headlights, not perfect but they look a lot better.

Did you use the Meguiars kit?

Yeah, planning on doing it in the spring.

I used the 3m kit, got it from napa, I got some extra 400grit sandpaper because the sandpaper can clog up pretty fast and it makes it easier to have extra.

I wanna go over them again, the edges of the curved parts take some patience to get, and I didn't quite get them completely.

Does 400 require water? Ive used 2000-3000 wetsand for paint, but it takes some serious sanding. The 3M stone chip came with 3000 i believe and needed to be wetsand. Took me 6 hours to fill and paint/clear 5 stone chips last year. I have another 3 to do soon and probably buff head lights as well. They seem to blur easy.

You can wet sand 400 but with this you dont. You get 500, 800 and 3000 in the kit. I got the 400 cause that was the closest napa had that had the Velcro type back to stick to the part that goes on the drill.
I did 400,500 then 800 all dry then the 3000 is wet. Then there's a rubbing compound and then wax.
