Better deal for Boostin haha, mine would need to be painted. Decided I'm going to hang on to it for a while anyway.

What grill is that? Mine is the honeycomb style. Would like a new spoiler though...

V6 grilles are honeycomb too, they just stick out a bit more on the bottom. Not really that worth the ~$150 price tag IMO. I like the V4.5 look myself.

Photo for reference..
Speed never killed anyone. Suddenly becoming stationary, that's what gets you.

Ah okay, I see.

Yeah I agree, my grill looks fine to me, would rather put the extra money into spoiler or suspension upgrades

Little update for today, hit 111111km, big jump from my 82000 a year ago when I got it

Replaced my intercooler piping due to suspicions of possible after turbo leak and inefficient stock design. Turns out it looked like decent condition, but I was happy to get rid of those stupid baffles anyway and have a much more durable material overall.

Before: Pipe to throttle body was starting to peel, so put tape on as temporary fix till silicone kit arrived lol

After getting the intercooler off, I noticed the ypipe I ordered did not have the stock bolt holes and was a bit shorter than the oem pipe:

Not to worry :D the I.D. of my new silicone kit was larger than the oem O.D. so I just cut the oem and slipped the new pipe over top. Still got rid of the majority of stock pipe, and bit larger diameter can't be bad.

Finally I cleaned and refit all the grounds and electrical connections I could see while I had the I/C off, might as well get rid of any future issues :)

After getting the intercooler mounted back in, I decided I should finally custom fit my oem hood scoop diffuser/turbo heat vent thing to this new hood, so I unbolted it from my stock hood, set it on the i/c, and went about drillling new holes to mount it.

Turned out perfect, fits tight to the intercooler and turbo heat vent just like the oem hood did. Happy to have less heatsoak again  :D

Don't really have a good pic of the finished product, but you know what it looks like

Thanks man! I almost get more satisfaction from them as much as I do from power mods haha. Feels good knowing that component of your car is upgraded and ready to rock  8)

Any updates on your GC?

Few updates on Rex:

-Found an oil leak on the passenger side valve cover (common for gc's), ordered a whole set of new gaskets, washers, etc. for both sides
-Will be ordering Whiteline 22mm front and rear sway bars, endlinks, and bushings kit tomorrow and will post here when they are installed
-Broke a nipple off the coolant reservoir tank when replacing hoses with silicone replacements, so in the process of getting another oem one. Set up a temporary rerouting of the lines for the time being.
-Few people asked me for some pics of my silicone hoses I replaced and I've been meaning to upload a few pics of my interior gauge setup, so here goes:

I'm curious about the crank pulley, how difficult was it to install? What did you pay for it? And what are positives of a lightened one?
6 speed + 550 tuned GC8 = good fun.

Very easy to install:
-put car in 5th
-remove accessory belt covers and belts
-break loose bolt in middle of pulley
-take off old pulley and put new one on
-retorque bolt
-reinstall accessory belts and covers

I paid around $160

While not being extremely noticeable, I noticed quicker engine response (much nicer for doubleclutching and overall drivability), bit faster revs on launch control, will likely be easier on the engine when starting, and car seems a tad quicker off boost

Seems easy. My crank pulley is a bit wobbly (so was my last GC), was entertaining this as an option for a fix.  >:D

Yeah good upgrade for the money I'd say. There are arguments that you lose the harmonic damping of the stock pulley, however, so you may want to look those up if you are concerned.

If you decide you don't want a lightweight, I could sell you my stock pulley for cheap if there's something wrong with your stock one.

Was bored today (nothing to do on holidays) so I installed my intercooler spray setup. With the stock wrx intercooler's poor feedpipe design, I figured I should at least add a sprayer to help with heatsoak. Still looking for options for a switch that doesn't look like a cheap aftermarket piece, even some kind of oem 2way switch would work.

Wiring will be:
-power wire from pump directly to 12v source
-ground will run through a microswitch under the gas pedal, into a dash switch, and then to a ground.

This way when I'm tracking the car I can flip the dash switch, and then whenever I'm flooring it the intercoooler will be sprayed.

Small update:

-Seafoamed Rex a few days ago, lots of smoke :D. Seems to idle a bit smoother afterwards, no huge difference though
-Got my replacement coolant box from Koalorka on JDMVIP, thanks a lot Raf! No more ghetto hose routing
-Replaced a bunch of shoddy hose clamps I had to use in a pinch as I was out of them. Makes the engine bay look a tad cleaner too instead of zipties :p
-Got door lock actuators for remote locks, will probably not be done till next weekend however.
-Pressure switch arrived, will be hooking the I/C spray with this so that it will spray whenever I hit 16+ PSI when dash switch is on. Anyone know where to get a good OEM-looking dash switch?

Awaiting my sway bars, on the way from Touge now :D. Will put up some pics when it and some other parts arrive!

It would fit, but that switch is a push to spray type setup, so its only active while you hold that button down. I need one that is a two-way selector switch if you know what I mean

oh okay, well what about getting and extra foglight switch? cause that is 2 way right?
and just getting a little sticker made to differentiate them,
it will then even have the little led light up to tell you its on
