2012 WSC CalendarAlright everyone, last year's calendar went really well. We are getting started late this year, but better late than never, right?
For those who don't know about the calendar or who want to refresh their memory, please see the thread here:
2010

http://www.westernsubaruclub.com/smf/index.php?topic=17314.0The idea is to make it much the same as last years.
Basically, the idea is that everyone is free to submit ONE picture (as long as it is within the rules - see below). When the submission period is over, everyone votes for their favourite pictures. The top 12 are used to make the 2012 WSC Calendar. The cover photo will be chosen by myself and the other moderators to be representative of the club. The calendar will be available from a website. This means that, once the calendar is available to order, you can order your own. There is no group-buy needed and no pre-payment required. If you don't like it, don't order it. The calendar is shipped directly to you. Pricing is established by having a base price that the website charges and then a premium that goes to the club. Last year it was $5 and everyone seemed fine with that. We raised a couple hundred dollars which went toward the purchase of the WSC banner.
Timeline I foresee is this:
Now until the end of November: Photo Submission
December 1 - December 15: Voting for the Top 12 Photos
December 15 - December 25: Calendar is made and put up on the website
After that: Calendar is available for purchase and should be in your hands sometime in early January.
This timeline might be adjusted depending on how things are going. We'll see.
THE OFFICIAL RULES:
Every member of the Western Subaru Club is eligible, regardless of their car or join date.
Each member may only submit ONE picture. If you submit more than one, you may be disqualified. If you want to change your entry before the deadline, you are free to do so, but just edit your post.
You must own the rights to the picture that you choose to enter. Do not steal someone else's work.
The submitted picture must be of a Subaru, owned by a member of the club. There are plenty of cool pictures on the internet, but that's not what this calendar is about.
The submitted picture must not contain nudity or inappropriate content. People want to put this up at work.
The submitted picture must be a high-quality image. 1024x728 does not cut it. Please strive for 2048 or higher. If you don't have a high-rez version, don't submit the picture.
The submitted picture must be in landscape format. That is the format of the calendar and I don't want to have to deal with cropping.
The submitted picture must not be a weird aspect. Keep in mind that this picture is going to be printed out probably on either 8.5x11 or 11x17. We don't want to have to put a lot of black space around the border.
The pictures from last year's calendar are not eligible for entry into this year's calendar.
The WSC Moderator and Admin team have final say as to the pictures that go into the calendar. We reserve the right to reject a picture for any reason. We are not going to be jerks, but that just means that you can't submit a random picture and get all your friends to vote for it.
These rules might be edited based on the type of pictures that are being submitted. If you have a question about whether a picture is appropriate, send it to me via PM and Ill let you know what I think.
For 2010, there were some issues with the Calendar (text getting cut off and PD's car getting messed up in printing... their fault, not ours)
Oh yeah, if there are any members with great photoshop skills, it would be great to have you volunteer your time in helping get the final 12 chosen pictures ready for the calendar. If you think you can lend a hand, please send me a pm.
Also, so far, we've been unable to get Canadian Holidays in the Calendar. The sites that I've found seem to have options for it, but dont end up panning out. If you've made a Calendar before and had Canadian Holidays on it, please send me a PM.
For those of you who are curious about the proper way of posting pictures, please see this thread:
