CR-Vtec Turbo *Honda content*
« on: April 03, 2012, 11:00:50 pm »
So im slowly recoversing and my shoulder isn't bothering me as much as i thought, the only issue i have at the moment is i seem to get headaches constantly... repercussions of my concussion (no pun intended) i assume but ill be visiting my doc this week to ask about that.

ANY WHOOO, i figure i better start a build thread as modifications on the EK have already begun and parts have been ordered and on the way. My new "back to basics" build is starting with a 96 Honda civic hatch CX with a full ITR swap (B18C5) gotta love that Type RAWR.

Theres nothing like old Vtec, the RSX has iVtec which was nice but old skool Vtec is so much more pronounce i love it! Since i was still recovering from my new frame modification to the RSX i was just sitting at home... "resting". but really playing video games all day trying to heal sucks and is especially boring when u start a new project. First mod included painting the new black fender.

No your eyes do not decieve you the color is totally off, but at the moment i could care less the whole vehicle will be stripped down and painted i was just looking for something to do and mis-matched body parts kills me... LOL

i then picked up a CTR replica spoiler, not too happy with it i definitely want a real one but it was cheap and looks alright and since my fender was another color might as well add to the collage of awesomeness.

picked up some more goodies

Coilovers have also been ordered and on the way

Why are JDM tail lights always the best?

Also picked the gem up at PNP, simple mod but probably on of my favorites

Stay tuned for some K20A goodness and much much more... hopefully this Honda makes it a few more months than the last one did  :-[

I miss working on my hatch.. let me know if you need help installing anything. I love how easy these things come apart.

But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.

Transferred my J's racing exhaust onto the EK sounds great but I must admit it sounds much better on the K series

been waiting for these for seems like forever but they finally arrived, lol i love how it came with a tiny measuring tape to measure your ride hieght. i only got these because they were cheap, will upgrade to most likley KW's once the swap is done and i have money to waste.

just curious but why didnt you keep your supercharged k series from your RSX and swap that in rather then a b18?

It looks like thy are using an EK subframe on that picture, I will be using a EG/DC2 subframe it pushes the engine back (toward the fire wall)

Hmm it does and also moves it more towards the middle of the engine bay too.

Yup it also releives stress on the axles because if you use the stock EK subframe the axles working angles are a lot greater.

Small update i installed my coil overs, skunk2 lower control arms and ASR swaybar brace. i was disappointed to find out the sway bar didnt fit because of my exhaust  >:( the exhaust will need to be modified to install the sway bar.

SAM_0260 by Kid-Vtek, on Flickr

These things are great! no shopping cart ride that usually comes along with coilover install.

i also got some custom made spoiler risers they turned out great!

i was also curious about how light this beast was so i weighed i was pleasantly surprised. these are the same scales which i weight my fat fat STI on (3360lbs)

I thought Integra Type Rs were 5-bolt, but I guess I was wrong. Are you going to corner balance it with your fancy scales?

the early Type R were 4x114 the later ones were 5x114... this is what ive found on my research any ways i could be wrong and these could be CTR not 100% lol all i know is i cant wait to get those drums outa there

Holy crap this looks like a fun little car! I miss the simplicity of my Civic :/

And damn is that engine tiny! Look at the cute little radiator too :)

Didn't have a second set of hands to test fit the hood but I'll get it on tomorrow. Rear quarter panels are on the way along with CTR front grill and type R rear lip.

I'm looking for a reputable shop to take her to that can weld in my new rear quarter panel and paint her inside an out. I'm willing to pay for quality work I'm very picky when it comes to paint  :P

something seems outta place, is that a facelift bumper with 96-98 headlamps or vice versa? I thought they didnt interchange.

Just something I learned the hard way when trying to put older parts on my sisters 2000 coupe.

Just looks like there's a gap at the grill/hood. Hence why he bought a new Ctr grill and hood?
