New clips can be had for a few dollars from subaru dealerships or even cheaper online, and they come off pretty easy too. p/n 91017FA080

It's great to see your car actually parked in the lot instead of hiding it away somewhere, nice work. :D Keep that white colour scheme, it looks awesome.

A thought... how are your tires? I'm running the Dunlop summers that my '12 STi came with and I'm terrified of the dropping temperatures. My winter wheels don't ship for a week!!

Thanks man :D as far as tires I havnt had an issue yet and It's supposed to get warmer over the weekend so I'm keeping the summers on. Hoping the snow melts in Calgary tomorrow so that I'm not sliding everywhere. But I'll still wait a bit on my tires so I'm sure you're fine

OK! Car is Tuned!

A couple days ago I installed the exhaust that I've had laying around with the help of GC8REX and Rotarymelon. Sounds incredible! very happy with it.

Notes from install:
-turbo heat shield was butched in half using tin snips.
-one of the mounting brackets didnt bolt up to the transmission but nothing too serious
-getting the lower downpipe bolts off is an itchbay lol

Went to Vex in Calgary yesterday to have an Apexi Power FC and Intake installed and tuned. Nothing but a good experience, guys know their stuff, friendly, and were very patient with my many questions haha.

Heres the Dyno:

"Baseline" was around 212hp so I'm pretty darn happy with 243hp. No idea what the baseline peak torque was but I'm very happy with ~265-270 peak @ 4000.

Based on percentages/ratios, if the car had 300hp a the crank it would now have ~338hp.

Car is tuned to Shell V-Power 91.

On the way back from Calgary I was testing fuel mileage and I got 8 Liters per 100km at 110kph. I have another test at a higher speed but I wont post that here, PM me if you want to know.

Peaks at 21PSI and tapers to around 17PSI on high boost.
Peaks at 18PSI and tapers to around 16PSI on low boost.

Also have 2 boost settings in between those.

Also I would say the Intake was the best $120 I spent on the car.... makes the car sound like a monster with all the turbo noises coming from it.

And a pic :D

Nicely done! Must be a huge load off the mind to have the car specifically tuned for our fuel now, and the extra power can't hurt either :P
Speed never killed anyone. Suddenly becoming stationary, that's what gets you.

Good results, I'm pleased for you.
I can't ever remember seeing 8L/100km in any of my Subarus  :(

And that photo is making my eyes cross. Did you dip the lens in honey first?

I was very surprised by the mileage as well.. haha but not going to complain. I did some amateur editing using the photo bucket PhotoShop lol probably why your head hurts lookin at it. Also the glare from the lights is just a smudged lens xD

Small update.

Winter mode is engaged:
-Coolant flush used OEM blue Subie coolant (I've never seen a more disgusting liquid.... I hope it didn't corrode things too much...)
-Winter tires put on my summer rims which will most likely be my winters for good. Looking at new getting new rims for summer (open to suggestions!!!!)
      205/55R16 Pirelli Winter Sottozero 210's
-Block heater installed during coolant flush
-Raised the suspension 40mm from its slammed height that it came over with... best. idea. ever. Enjoy the look better and will probably only lower it 10mm next spring.

Also installed JDM clear side markers.

First impressions of winter driving in my scoob:

Unbelievable haha loads of traction from a stand still which is a crazy concept when you've only ever driven a FWD. paying loads of attention is key to winter driving any vehicle, especially ones that can give false confidence IE. braking.

Being able to leave the car in a low boost setting via the Power FC when in the snow is an awesome perk. Better mileage and less slippage.

After!!!:

looks good dirty haha

Looks awesome. I still love your white on white combo. I definitely say your summer setup should be another set of white wheels!

Now all you need is some clear front bumper lights!

Car running well still enjoying the purchase?

Engine wise, I have no complaints but the front axles have cost me a lot of money with the tone ring fiasco, but that's old news. can't say I have any more complaints haha.

Come spring Ill be ordering some clear bumper signals.

Ive been toying with the idea of powder white 17"x7.5" Volk TE-37's but they are so darn expensive so I'm looking for some other possibilities that are from a quality manufacturer but cheaper but haven't found anything I like yet.

Does that thing even have traction control? That should keep you on your toes.

Traction control is for quitters ;) I have no issues with traction other than braking what so ever. I wish I could throw my abs out the flipping window... So terrible....

Traction control is a fairly new addition to WRXs and STIs. I don't think my 07 WRX had traction control and I don't think my 06 STI does either.

Interesting. It's mandatory now in the States so it's not going away any time soon - and traction control is really a lot less important on our AWD vehicles than on 2WD - but sometimes it's nice to have the stability control keeping you going in the right direction when you're caught by surprise. It's a pain in the assay when you're trying to slide on purpose though, haha. At least it's easy to turn off on my 2012 STi (my Volvo was ridiculous).
