A blue last-gen model M3 passed me on Stoney this evening going well over 2 hundy. Like probably 250 Km/h. Scared the life out of me. I died for a few seconds. A ghost Suburban was a few minutes behind in quiet pursuit. Something tells me he's not gonna catch this guy. I've never been passed by someone going so fast. It was absolutely insane. I didn't see him coming cuz I was just cruising in the middle lane and it was like a sonic boom as he passed on the right. My heart was pounding.

Which part of stoney was it on?

250kph =76 yards per second, sweet so by the time you shoulder check, hit the signal light, then shoulder check again they've already blown past you half way up the road. I hope they got caught and lost their license for life.

East bound, just past harvest hills Blvd. It was right as you come around the bend and can see the Deerfoot junction off in the distance.

Damm, normally that part is a lot more tame than say the whole East side.  Every time I drive on the east part where it is mostly straight there is a ton of dbags weaving in traffic, even had a guy rip past me in the shoulder.

Stoney is really bad for people speeding, i honestly dont even think 100km/h is a high enough speed limit for the east side.

It's barely 9:05 AM and I've watched two people blast through red lights, one cutting off a left turning bus.

City busses and their ideology that they have the right of way whenever they feel like it...

City busses and their ideology that they have the right of way whenever they feel like it...

I think you can actually get ticketed in Calgary for not giving right of way to a bus. I'm not sure, but the signs on the back of the bus sure make it feel that way.
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.

Yeah i understand the concept that they have the right of way when exiting out of a bus stop but i disagree that they have the right away when switching lanes. They do not shoulder check, rather, they just start changing lanes so they dont miss their turn and expect you to push over or let them in. This could be very dangerous if you are riding a motorbike.

Do you really think a bus has the ability to shoulder check? That's why they have the right of way; their visibility is poor.

Still doesn't give them the right to change lanes and put everyone else at risk.

Sorry still have to disagree, here is exactly what im talking about. Right of way doesn't mean just change lanes whenever you feel like it without looking making everyone else swerve out of the way.

Your video, from Australia mind you, shows several people driving like idiots. Yes, one of them is the bus driver. The filming car is also stupid for trying to cut off the bus at the end. There's a car parked on the left side that the bus is trying to get around.

Right of way means exactly that, right of way. I'm not saying I don't dislike it when I have to slow down to let a bus in, but it's not exactly ruining my life.

Agreed. 30 seconds of my life for a full bus of people (which you want to allow in because hey, you let the bus meet the schedule and not inconvenience 30 other people)

Today I was coming back from lunch headed up McLeod and I was tailgated by a JDM Land Cruiser w/ lift, big tires and snorkel in the left lane. I'm doing the speed limit, so I move over. In front of me was a guy on an older Gixxer, and the guy in the Land Cruiser started to tailgate the bike. Like, I'm talking 3 feet tops.

WTF I hate people

I agree with this take; I feel like a lot of drivers think their time is more important than everyone else's time and safety.

Can confirm, was in Australia.  People drive like idiots there.  It's also from the future (2030), so things might have changed.
They're going to park their car over there. You're going to park your car over here. Get it?

I imagine Australia in 2030 will be like Canada in the 1980s. Or Mad Max.

I don't think the issue is so much having to wait and give the bus the right of way, so much as busses driving very aggressively in general and pushing people out of lanes with no warning.

Yes, this is exactly what im trying to describe. They still need to respect other drivers.

I've always approached buses keeping in mind their task at hand and how they have to operate. I've never had a problem, and I don't male a habit of hanging out beside them, or anyone. If you observe the traffic before you encounter it you usually have a really good chance of avoiding the types of situations you are describing.

The only problem I have with buses is that there's a left turn on my commute where the bus drivers always turn into the wrong lane so they can reach the bus stop easier.

I think it's unsafe but there's really not much else they could do.
