My trip to the U.K. Car pics and twisties video!
« on: June 14, 2012, 06:59:53 pm »
Well I've been lazy getting this together but i was over there in May of this year and what a great time.
For those of you who don't know, I was born and raised in England and moved to Canada when I was 11.
So 17 years later and I have so much more respect for the land, history and archeology that is the U.K.

Like I said I'm lazy so I'll let the pics do the talking  ;D
We'll start with some euro spec Subies since that's the main reason were here!

Some other random potentially cool cars!
MG:

Vauxall ???

Accord/TSX wagon!

CTR:

Renault Megane:

Liverpool Cathedral:

View from the top:

Strawberry fields:

John Lennon's childhood home:

My old house! Over 150 years old now!

Randoms:

And last but not least my rental car lol!
1.3 liter Fiat Punto, turbo diesel, 6 speed  >:D

And let's just say the roads in this country are like spaghetti tossed on a plate!
This video is an example of what I did with most of my time there lol!
Love to drive!

I love long walks on the beach with my girlfriend, until the LSD wears off and I realize I'm just dragging a stolen mannequin around a Wendy's parking lot.

Jesus my heart stopped a few times watching that video, those roads are really narrow for being 2 way traffic.

Haha! Yeah ridiculously small. I think if I lived there again a Subaru wouldn't be my first choice.
An S2K would be a riot! Even an EK9 Civic or something pretty small for sure.
Thanks for watching!

WOW Beautiful pictures!  My husband is English by birth and Scottish by blood.  He was born in Maidstone, Kent and moved to Canada when he was 4.  He really wants to vacation there.  My heritage is half Scottish, half Ukrainian, 3rd generation Canadian.  I have longed to go over the pond and explore.  Ahhhh one day.  One day.

That's awesome  :)
Make sure you rent a decent car if you ever go.
This one had a cel on with tape over it lol! The guy said "it's not a big deal, it's fine"
I asked what it was from and he said he didn't know and it had been on for over a year. Haha, I just didn't want to throw another code and not know.
It ran really well though but also had squeaky brakes and bald rear tires  ::)
Needless to say I rented it at a shady garage.
Few more pics  :)
Interior shots of Fiat (Fix it again Tony)

And just because we don't have it  :(

My Nana has a holiday trailer that she rents out here in Wales, I just though the 'Sunnyvale' part was freakin hilarious!

These 1.8 liter 1 series diesel Beamers are everywhere too.

Scirocco:

A dude:

This little dude was all by himself in the wild.

Penny Lane: (could've got a better pic, sorry)

Albert dock:

A couple more of the cathedral to get an idea of the size:

97 RON is approximately equal to 92 AKI (which is (RON +MON)/2)... So we very much *do* have that here.

Unless you mean the price...  1.469 GBP/L    =   2.352 CAD/L, which we definitely (and thankfully) don't have.

I kind of get it lol. So they have a different way of grading their fuel?
And yes very glad our prices are where they are.
