Pictures of your things that go bang
« on: June 30, 2012, 09:05:23 PM »
Like the title says post up you favorites

Heres one of my baby's.. STI tactical AR15.  HERA quad rail, have a for grip at my other house that stills needs to go on. Factory installed JP trigger group, Nordic components tactical Compensator and the factory 16"-410ss-1:8 twist barrel. Factory weight on the tactical "sporting" rifle is 6lbs 7.8ounces.. Mines a little more with the c-more red dot and magpul pop up sights.

One of the beauty parts of this rifle is the factory 10round "pistol"mag that comes with it (ittshay Canadian laws otherwise say it must be a 5rounder or pinned to 5) I have 6 of these lovely mags as well as two 30round magpuls. Ones pinned to 5, the other is dis-assembled for "parts" lol..

Anyways hope you enjoy:D I sure do :p

Sweet. Probably getting some very nice groups with that one. I had a LMT but swapped it on a XCR because I figured I could always use it for coyotes. My SPARC is either hard on batteries or needs to go back for warranty. I went out tonight, but used a bolt gun to murder some paper.

Nice  8) my buddy's rocking an xcr and loves it. I can't remember the proper term for it, but the adjustable ejector is pretty sweet too. I think He has the 6.87 conversion?

My STI is fun, groups could be a lot better if I put some more time in with it. I'm consistently hitting the 100m/200m gongs out at Alberta fish and game. Winging it out to the 300m with my single power acog knock off isn't quite as accurate, but I'm happy considering the bulk rounds I'm using  :) I hit the 300m one in three shots I'd say  :'(

Nothing wrong with that using bulk ammo. I doubt I could do as well. I do most of my shooting from the bench now. If you ever get into reloading you will probably enjoy that also.

How do you like it? I recently bought a Gen4 G17 and really like it. Years ago I had a Gen2 and the grip was just a little too big for comfort. The P-07 Duty is pretty comfortable too.

You might want to check out CGN and GOC for gun related info.

I'm happy with it. I have fairly big mits so it fits nice :)  My other hand gun is a Para-Ordanance 16-40 limited, 1911. It's set up for IPSC. Different sights, mag well and some polishing  >:D

I'm leaning towards a gen 4 GLOCK, cant remember the model off hand but I want the 5" compensated one possible in olive green next...

I really like the 1911 platform but haven't taken the plunge yet. I'm not a total purist though and will get one in 9mm when I do buy one. Some people would cringe at that but it's cheaper to reload for and it'll only be used for putting holes in paper.

Both of mine are 40cal. Mainly cause I bought the Para of my buddy and he was already setup for reloading. I really don't see the point of a 9mm. But to each they're own. At the reloading end of it I don't think there's really that much of a difference in price. From my gathering most people I know that run 9mm,run it cause they want to by cheap factory rounds, Not reload it.

I've been buying my 40 stuff from mil-arm. They have a good supplier of reloaded stuff thats cheaper then factory, and shoots just as well IMHO

I've shot the Wolf ammo before and it was good. I've been set up for reloading for rifle for years so it was kind of a no brainer for me to get the 9mm dies. 45 cal is where you really start to see a price difference compared to 9mm. Casting bullets would bring the cost down to an absurdly low price if you could get wheel weights for free but the Glocks have polygonal rifling so cast bullets are a no no. I probably don't put enough rounds through them to justify reloading, but I enjoy the process so I guess it's worth it in the end.

A good place to find reloads is Canadian BDX he is out of black diamond. Good stuff runs a lot cleaner then WWB. We used it at The Shooting Edge when I was a range officer there. I know The Calgary Shooting center uses it as well.

This is what mine started out as. Only difference is we get the factory 10round mags instead of the thirties.
Only preaching these cause I love the fit, form and function of everything on mine from a factory standpoint. After shooting my buddies anniversary edition IPSC STI 1911, I knew this rifle would be a beaut  :)

That can be a very economical way to go. Do you go on CGN? There can be some good deals on the EE from time to time. I went out after supper tonight and took this pic cause they looked so cute sitting there.

I came across this link in another forum. There are Glock haters out there, but you can't argue they go through a lot.
71,260 rounds over 473 days http://pistol-training.com/archives/6885
If I can find the link to a torture test this one guy did to his I'll post it. I couldn't imagine doing what the guy did to any firearm I owned.

I love mine. I've done some polishing in it and it has a 3.5lb disconnect also. It definatly shoots wayyyyyy nicer then a stock one  >:D I'd still like to put some tridium sights on it tho...

When I'm home next I'll post some more toys  :)

Take a look at the Tru-glow sights. They are a dual sight tritium and fiber optic for the day time. That's one thing with the Glock that I hate is the stock sights.

Another thing to look at is an over travel limit kit. I have that with a 3.5 pound disconnect on mine. Way nicer then stock.
