I was remembering if I leaned forward or not or if I jacked the seat to be uncomfortably close to see over. But I couldn't see the scoop. Weird in that pic.

Ah, that's a good point.  Maybe you were forward and I was gangster lean.

Thanks for the encouragement on the car and pics, all.

I agree with your sentiment, but in some part, this is how I also feel about it:

every time someone decides to keep an aging car alive and not sell it off to the nearest teenager with a raging WOT addiction, an accute hearing issue, and distaste for fresh oil, an angel gets its wings.

+1, hawkeyes are getting to price point that teenagers get them and that hurts my feelings.
The 3 is raw.  Lighter than more agile.  The 6 probably feels like a 747.  And by that contrast, my STI probably feels like the Hindenburg.  So GR's are like the International Space Station.

Back in April, I picked up 3 STI BBS wheels for relatively cheap.  They were mounted with nearly new Hakka 8's (with 8mm tread left) so if anyone wants those, throw me an offer.  Felt pretty good because I've had a single wheel in the attic for years.  So, now, the circle is complete; just needed to decide how best to remove the plastidip and resolved to have them all sandblasted.  Nearly two months after purchase, I finally have the Hakka's removed and lay the wheels down to remove valve stems and wheel weights (jk, I left the weights on- gotta have my painted weights).

Fantastic.

Dan recalls that the ad mentioned something about the wheels coming off an 05+ STI, or something, and I recalled asking if they were 5x114.

Ah sigh.  That really hampers the momentum but honestly, I can only blame myself.

Otherwise, still in love with the car.

Something's not right here.

Cone counts:
Rank     Car# Driver           Cones
   1       11 Dallin B            9
   2      136 Yvonne A            5
   3       24 Jonathan L          4
   3       36 Brian A             4
   4        9 David K             3
   4       20 Amir S              3
   4      116 Greg M              3
   4      192 Cam W               3
   5      417 Doug K              2
   5       61 Cameron D           2
   5       92 Jess W              2
   5       88 Stephen H           2
   5        4 Duane J             2
   6      203 Marco L             1
   6       78 Patrick C           1
   6        6 Kathleen D          1

Had a really hard time learning the course in the morning, but in the afternoon, I got it down pat.  My one good run in the morning was my benchline, and I thought I killed it in my first run in the afternoon.  But it was slower.  So, I pushed harder and it was very encouraging to see my times get faster with each run in the afternoon.

404  No  No             ASP Jonathan W       2007 Subaru STI
                   Day 1 Set 1  63.103+DNF  60.016+DNF (58.253)     57.197+DNF
                   Day 1 Set 2  58.803      56.684      55.564     (53.498)

Also, I need more psi in the tires and more camber.

36.  I thought it was high because I was in Ice Dice mode where we drop pressures.  Womp womp.

Was talking to another STI guy, he traded his silver BBS caps for gold ones!  Said some guy wanted to trade them straight up.  Man!

36 is probably ok for the front you likely need 38-40ish in the rear to encourage the car to rotate. The trouble with zero camber is once you load the inside tire the contact patch is greatly reduced which will cause it understeer no matter what pressures you run.

36? daaaaaaamn bro.
Got them applebottom jeans?

If it matters, I ran 40-45 in my *specs on the jerkmobile, depending on the length of course (heat incurred) and pavement temp.

YMMV

Have you seen Jelly? He certainly does not have the booty to fill out those apple bottom jeans, and likely can't even pull off the boots with the fur either.

Yeah, 36 is way too low. I told him to start around 39-40 as well, but the guy just doesn't want to listen. Ironic for a teacher.

I'll agree with canuckerz, those wheels look great.

First of all, you told me after the fact. Second, teachers don't listen, teachers tell you how it is. Third, I only listen to snackers. At least he drove a real car. Not some Ferrari coloured, not as good as the GR WRX, Civic/EVO homonculous.

I guess you shouldn't have uckfayed up in the first place then.

Second, teachers don't listen, teachers tell you how it is.

You don't know itshay, Jon Snow. I used to be a teacher (they'll let pretty much anyone do that job), so I guess I'm telling you how it is.

Third, I only listen to snackers.

Well, there's a critical mistake right there.

Comprende, my bald applepants amigo?

Jeez buddy, sounds like you need some sleep, stay up too late washing dishes?

At least with this admission, we know that you get written off after we do the dirty, and I move on to make more crappy seasons, letting down the entire world.

On a scale of 1 to Snoop Dogg, how high are you right now?

My guess would be somewhere around Tommy Chong.

Does Jonny wear the Reeboks with the straps? (With the straps?)

I feel like when I drove the STi I didn't need to adjust his pressures. No wait.

I remember inflating them up to 40psi myself. With Cole's compressor. Yep. Thanks Cole!!

Jonny needs to employ a crew chief so he can focus on driving.
