Love those two photos! Is the lighthouse Peggy's Cove in NS?  Have you been to St Pierre & Miquelon? Combine a charming and picturesque maritime village with baguettes, cheese, wine and Renaults!

Yes, light house is Peggy's cove. And that other one is cape split, bay of fundy. Haven't been to Miquelon yet but it's on the list. Ever since we moved here, every weekend we check out someplace new.

Of the two French islands, St Pierre is the more populous one; Miquelon is where the people of St Pierre have their summer cottages. :)

St Pierre:

Newfoundland also has its charm, and the people are delightfully quirky and hospitable.

Great. Now I want to go back.

Loving it man! Absolutely love it.

The scenery is just gorgeous, the food amazing, the people incredibly friendly, great pubs and restaurants. Every weekend I go out and abouts and explore a different part of the area. Spent lots of time hiking  in Cape Breton, Cape Chignecto and Bay of Fundy, doing canoe portage trips in Kejimkujik. The city is JAM pack full of festivals in the summer. So much to do and see.
Been stuffing my face with fresh seafood as much as possible. To make life even better, Halifax has seen one of its best summers to date. I think it only rained like a hand full of times. Halifornia is right!

The only down side is my one year contract ends next July(2013), so we shall see what happens after that. If I can get something more permanent, might look into buying out here. If not Ill have to move back to Alberta.

I guess I never posted pictures from my trip out East. Here's a few:

The houses of St Johns

Our morning (and afternoon) coffee before heading out exploring.

We went Iceberg Hunting! Our version involves checking out the website showing their locations, looking at google maps and then driving out into the wilderness and trying to find them without the help of the internet (no service). We had some solid adventures before finding these two.

Peggy's Cove was the nicest weather we had by far...
