I--RIDE--BIKES's Racekar - 2jz swap.
« on: November 05, 2012, 11:04:48 am »
****Go to last post for most current info....aka rotated build  >:D >:D

Well, as some of you are aware, I am the proud new owner of Tenacious_B's 06 SGM Sti.

So far the car has been absolutely great and has only exceeded my expectations in terms of build/work quality. No corners were cut on the car, which I have been extremely pleased about.

Now that I have had the car for a bit, I have been able to start modding it to my likings (which are very similar to Tenacious's).

**And I am planning to get out to the closest track to me next summer and see how this bad mo-fo does.

Here are my latest changes:

-wingless trunk debadged
-invidia N1 race exhaust
-kartboy shortshifter
-defi BF advance gauges  and controller (boost, oil pressure, EGT)
-custom front strut bar

So here are a few pictures that I was able to snap through the fall.

Future plans involve:
-2 bride vios III
-Tigwerks engine mounts
-Kartboy Pitchstop mount

enjoy

Looks awesome! Many will approve

Black brembos would really set it off. Would be even closer to a limited  >:D
I used it on my old legacy, I just poored the whole can in the gas tank and enjoyed white smoke all week

Bump for progress...

I'm living vicariously through you now.

Im actually quite ok with this.

The car is in full winter mode and loving it.

In the fall I bought some stock struts for her and tossed on my winter meats with the stock goldies. Reminds me how much I hate stock fitment haha. But its been plowing through the snow and hasn't given me any grief at all.

The plans for the car starting around spring time are as follows:

-Tigwerks engine mounts (loved them on my old car, although a total PITA to install)
-Some equivalent tranny mount to the above (hopefully he will have a tigwerks mount available by then
-Bride VIOS III seats (at least for the driver)
-kartboy pitchstop mount

Then begins the fun: (tentative plan, not 100% quite yet)
-Blouch 20g xtr (just an idea at this time. But I like this turbo for the fact that it still hits hard nice and early and I don't want to risk the ringlands THAT much).
-and all supporting mods like injectors, intercooler, etc.

I will post up some good winter pics when i have a chance.

Tonight is friday, and what better way to spend it than to have a couple drinks and start building my carbon rear diffuser!

Im going to model it after the APR unit.  Ill start by making a plug, then make a fiberglass mold, then my carbon diffuser!

Should be fun

Now that the snow is gone, i decided it was time for summerization. Which included the install of new cusco engine/tranny mounts, and a custom pitchstop mount that I made.

Well, I haven't updated this badboy in a little while now, so I though now would be a great time to do so.

Earlier in the year I installed my Cusco engine and tranny mounts, as well as my custom built solid pitchstop mount which I lovvvveeeee.

I have finally decided to start my rotated turbo build as well. I am wayyyy too excited for this.

The plan as of now is this:

-shoot for around 450whp

-Holset HX35 7 blade turbo with BEP 0.70 A/R hotside T3/v-band
-Custom uppipe
-Custom Downpipe
-EL headers
-Tial 44mm EWG rerouted
-TIal BOV
-custom built FMIC with vibrant core
-reverse intake manifold
-battery relocation to trunk
-larger fuel pump (hardwired)
-FPR
-Injectors
-clutch
-TGV deletes
-4 Bar Map sensor

-Cobb AP tuned with speed density
-tuned on 91, potentially 94 but its hard to get around here, plus or minus a tune using meth.

Engine: mostly TBD
-forged pistons
-forged rods
-rod and main bearings
-head studs
-gaskets, water pump, timing belt kit.........

As of now I just have the clutch (ACT HD pressure plate, 6 puck clutch disk, lightweight flywheel, ID 1000 injectors/fuel rails/clips)

Should be fun!

Look what I picked up today! Just a tad bigger than the vf39. Now to clean all the gross gunk and residue off, rebuild it, and buy the new exhaust housing. Should look pretty after that.

Love the choice of turbo.

Had one on my supra, running no BOV, lots of boost and abuse and it took it all.
