Kinda neat that's the same turbo used to have on my '01 dodge cummins that buddy owns now, 30+ psi for 12 years 250,000km still going strong!

Look what I found in the mail today  >:D

Looks a lot  prettier than the last time I saw it. I even put a can of coke in there for scale. She is pretty beefy haha.

Should have used a banana peel for scale.

Yesterday I placed an order for pretty much every part I need to fabricate my down pipe, up pipe and rerouted dump tube from the WG (mandrel bends, straight tube, vband assembly, t3 and 2 bolt exhaust flanges, flex pipes.....)

Hoping to see it sometime next week.

Engine is all disconnected and ready to be yanked. Its coming out tomorrow morning.

Slight change of plan as well. I will now be installing the new short block that I will be getting from outfront (closed deck, pistons, rods, bearings) this winter, breaking it in with my current parts, then install power goodies in the early summer once I know everything is happy with motor.

I will post up some pictures soon.

Here some pics of the progress so far:

The engine is almost fully stripped now. Once im on my week off from working in Alberta I will be fully disassembling the engine and getting the shortblock ready for sale as it is in great condition.

All of the gaskets, seals, throwout bearing, thermostat, MAP H11 headstuds, shortblock, timingbelt setup, and water pump will be arriving Monday/Tuesday this week and Ill be picking it up ASAP when im home for my time off.

PS. Had a dream last night where I had installed my new block, started it and drove around only to find out that I had forgot to put in any oil. I almost cried like a baby.

Anyways, this build is getting real.......fast  8)

I did a border run the other day and picked up a ton of shiny goodies. The short block is beautiful. I can't stop staring at the bloody thing.

Pretty soon here I will start putting this thing back together!

Is the short block a bored out 2.2L? Or an entirely aftermarket 2.5L closed deck?

Its an Outfront motorsports EJ25 with their proprietary closed deck treatment. Its really well done.

On Outfront Motorsports site they say that they'll take your block and "upgrade" it to a closed deck design. If you look at OP's pictures you can see where new metal has been added to make it closed deck.

That is an awesome looking block.  Is there any downside to the closed deck 2.5 like cooling etc?

They haven't had any issues what so ever with their closed deck blocks as far as cooling goes, and have never had one fail in any way.

Funk32, I should have phrased it as "they haven't had any of their v3 break which has been out for quite a bit now".

Good find Jellynuts haha!

Ordered some Federal 595RS-R 255/40 r17's yesterday for the upcoming season and will be starting the engine assembly here in the next week or so after I pick up a proper Mac torque wrench. Should be fun!

I've got a set of 225's on my summer rims, I'm excited to test them out!

The tires came in the other day and look awesome. Should be a lot better than my old worn Azenis i was running.

As for the motor. I have pretty much the whole long block assembled now, but just waiting on 2 seals that should be in my hands today, and on the block tomorrow. Then monday looks like the day when it will be shoved back into the car. I just PRAYYYYYYY that I don't have any leaks since there are so many sealing surfaces on these things. My water pump looked like it had maybe been banged around in shipping a bit since the gasket surface had little marks on it. So if something is going to leak, my money is on that. But lets see how it plays out  :P

Ill post up some pics in the following days
