WOW.... yeah that is not great costumer service. I also have been struggling with customer service from various shops. It just doesn't matter to some people, if they have enough rep and income is seems the customer service side falls off no matter how big the company becomes.

So #3 intake valve just broke off? The stem and retainers were still attached in the top of the head even with the spring pressure?

Do you know what work was done to the heads? Did they put new guides and seats in it? Sounds like a machining error since valves don't really fail unless there improper guide angle or valve seat alignment.

At least you'll make more power with a stock 2JZ....

Put a 4g63 in just to rustle jimmies.
The 3 is raw.  Lighter than more agile.  The 6 probably feels like a 747.  And by that contrast, my STI probably feels like the Hindenburg.  So GR's are like the International Space Station.

They were +1 valves and everything was reworked.  Who knows what happened but I do know I’ll never use outfront again, and I’ll be nervous to use gsc valves.

But yes the silver lining is that I’ll be making stupid power.  Going to be so fun to drive!

Crossed my mind but a 2jz sounds like heaven!

My jimmies are more rustled by the lack of service.

Outfront left a sour taste in my mouth just seeing their reaction and posts online at IAG making a competing and in some cases superior closed deck block. Basically called them thieves for stealing their design. I mean the failure was clearly a valve snapping at the base, no foreign object did this since the turbo was okay on the intake side at least.

But on the other hand now we got some 2JZ No itshay content.  >:D

I remember reading that too and was thinking wtf.

So now they have officially said they are doing nothing for me, stopped responding with anything helpful and left me with a pile of useless parts that im attempting to sell. Also my GSC cams are severely damaged on a few lobes somehow so im waiting to hear back from them on that. Maybe ill send my cams and valves to them for inspection? Ridiculous.

New vs old diff for comparison.

Here’s a picture comparing new and old trans.

And a little eye candy!

Finally started test fitting this big unit.

Also built a sweet micro adjustable stand to perfectly level the engine and adjust angles. It works hilariously well. I’ll have a chance this weekend to test fit the hood and bellhousing.

Very cool.

My eyes are drawn to the "rad support delete".  Is it going to be bolt in, or just left off?

Thx.

No need to worry there, I’ll be making it fully bolt in and out for easy motor work and while keeping the strength it adds. Also will fab everything up so that it doesn’t look hacked or anything like that.

Whats your plan for engine harness and dash?

I’ll be using a Wiring Specialties harness or similar but haven’t fully decided yet as I’m focusing on mechanicals currently.  I’m also hoping to keep the oem dash with some fancy wiring.

Thats pretty cool. I assumed u would just do an AIM system or equivalent as it is a bit easier to setup but going the OEM dash route is clean.

Do you have any idea yet how well that shifter location on the T56 will line up compared to the WRX trans? How much room do you have to move the 2j front/back?

This is really cool. Can't wait to see the progress!

Update:

I now have the trans/bellhousing fitting and the engine sits nicely under the hood.  Engine mounts are fabricated and now I’m just working on restrengthening the subframe as I did some trimming to have it sit nice with the oil pan.   Once I have the trans mount done I will then move to the rear end.

Update:

My bandsaw broke so I had to wait a few weeks for my new bigger one to arrive.  Now that is here and I’m back in action.  Subframe is complete, engine is in car with its full weight on engine mounts.  Now it’s time to fab up the trans crossmember while still allowing enough room for the 4” exhaust.  Should be a fun game of Tetris.  Also picked up some new Furick cups for the tig. Should help a lot with gas coverage on my turbo manifold.

I’ll be picking up my clutch, LPS Alphalok IC couplers and a few random goodies Monday.  Lots to still do but making some progress finally.
