Craft Beer Advent Calendar Discussion Thread!

So, we're up to Dec. 2 (aka. 2 beers) and I haven't seen any discussion of this Advent Calendar (other than the shout outs when people bought it in the What's your favourite beer?!? thread...

Dec. 1

Ayinger Kellerbier

Tasty, german, light flavoured wheat beer.  Unpasteurized, so it's a little cloudy & if your shake/roll it you'll get some sediment.

Dec. 2

Bise Noire Double Malt

It's French, it's 7.2% alcohol, it's dark as your IT guys heart, and it tastes faintly of licorice...

Now i'm sad I'll never find this again...

I've been out of town so I didn't get a chance to open the calendar until last night.  Glad you got a thread started though!

Out of the 3 beers, the Bise Noire Double Malt is my favourite.

I'm aware who the Dude is... I was referring to this brewery as a whole.

So, this "Dude" Oat Soda from Bad Attitude is hoppy, very carbonated, and very crisp.

There's a strong opening flavour of... I don't know, but it hits right after the hoppy bitterness.

I'd say it has a pine or even cedar taste.  Also, I noticed a very slight caramel taste.

Personally, I am not a fan of many IPA's.  I'd say this is my least favorite of the bunch.

Finally!  Someone else who has been enjoying one of these.  I am glad to see that I have been getting them in the same order as you. I have not tried the Dude yet though,  a I was starting a bit behind,  and drank the first three this evening.

My fave at the moment is the Noire.  Dark and malty.  I love a good hoppy beer, but didn't find the Nood over the top.

I've grabbed a 6 pack or two of dogfish head 90 min IPA.  If your partial to IPA's this ones pretty good on my opinion, certainly worth a try.

I wish I could found this in my neck of the woods. Stupid BC run government liquor stores.

Check out their Facebook page, they listed all the BC stores recieving them.  They posted last night that Liquor Depot in Kelowna may have some left.

The Gosler was a tasty beer, I'm a fan of wheat beer so it was right up my alley.

My box had a different Dec.6 beer than you did.  I opened the window and got a malt whisky beer.
