Topic: Clutch on a 98' JDM wrx EJ20K

Hey guys i just got my 98 wrx about a month ago i was sitting at a light just getting ready to go and before i even hit the gas it shot first gear out and all i could smell was burning clutch. Now it needs a new clutch the engage point is terrible. does anyone know if the 02 wrx has the same clutch? or where i would be able to find one in calgary. i have seen them on ebay and that. but im willing to spend the extra money in town to get it on the road. I've done a clutch replacement before, just need to get the right part. Thanks Brad

Ya it's the same as 2002 wrx, I'm pretty sure vex has exedy oem replacement and stage 1 or you can buy it online for cheaper.

I just replaced mine with the Exedy Stage 1 a couple weeks ago. I got it from VEX Performance and it was about $600. They had it in in less than a week. It's easy to drive and will hold more power than you will probably ever need. Flywheel options ranged from $80 to resurface (not recommended) to $420 for OEM replacement. I got the Exedy Streetlight for $350.
