My jdm 99 forester.
« on: February 07, 2015, 12:54:21 pm »
Hey guys. I'm planning on a big build this summer and am getting antsy in the mean time. So I've decided to make this thread!

I got the fozzy in September this last year, and it had some issues right off the get go.
I had to replace the tranny, so I went ahead and got a jdm version 7 sti drivetrain put in by the guys at Firstgear.
Sti suspensions
Sti brakes (not brembo)

I also got a tomei tbe system.

That's all for now. Everything else is stock

I'm planning on doing a cosworth 2.2 stroker kit this summer, upgrade turbo, big tmic with meth and replacing as much as I can while it's apart.
I'm also going to do a lot of suspension stuff.

Right now I'm pretty set on the 20g xt-r turbo, but I'm open to suggestions.

I'm new at all this, but I'm not planning on trying to make it a cheap build. I want to do it right from the start, so I'm prepared to spend what needs to be spent.

My goal will be between 350 and 400 whp, DONE PROPERLY, and I intend to bring it to lightspeed in red deer for most of the work.

Any feedback on building ej205 engines and any supporting mods I'm going to need or might as well get due to the car being apart would be greatly appreciated!

Looking good dude! where did you get the dp? i also have a stb, with a bunch of mods at the moment i just did a custom tbe but am thinking about getting a pre made dp. Ill be sending my ecu out to either ecu labs or esl tuning as the 1999 still cant be tuned without modding the ecu first.

I got the turboback from the guys at first gear in edmonton. It's all tomei.
Apparently it's the only forester in North America with the tomei expreme ti turbo back exhaust, confirmed by the guys at tomei  ;D
I'm not driving it much because I haven't done anything with the ecu, I'm going to ask what my options are when I rebuild.

Starting to sound like I have a bad wheel bearing front right side, so there is another thing for the list.
