FW1 Waterless Carwash
« on: July 10, 2013, 08:06:12 am »
For those who were wondering about my wax job at the Timmies meet last night...

I washed the car at a hands free and then applied this product:
http://www.fw1canada.com/unnamed-product/
I was pretty heavy handed and went through nearly 2/3 of a can. I'm sure I can get this down to 1/2 a can, or less, per application.

An independent review:
http://www.autos.ca/forum/index.php?topic=79902.msg805972#msg805972

Found at Costco in a 3 pack promo price of $29.99
I've looked around and it appears to be this price on a regular basis, going by the reviews.
::edit:: This is a Costco "Roadshow" item and isn't normally stocked. If you want to buy some it's worth checking before you waste time driving to your local Costco.

The result:

You bought the combo pack eh? ;)
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.

Not sure. They've been promoting it pretty hard the last year or so and I wouldn't be surprised if it was.

I believe my cousin stumbled upon this product like 4 years ago and brought some back from the states. It was basically kerosene in a can lol, got a little on the rear windshield by accident and it smeared with the wipers creating a gooey mess.

Looks like the product has been revised since then though. Did you use it on just your body? or apply it to wheels/etc...?

Body and glass. Didn't touch the wheels but I imagine I could have. I would have applied using a rag instead of spraying it on.
"Kerosene in a can" is pretty far removed from today's composition.

I would think wheels would be ok :S. I might have to try some out, If anyone doesn't have a Costco card and wants to meet at Costco south later tonight I can grab you a few cans :p
Maybe we didn't let it set long enough.

For those wondering about MY wax job, it's from brazil and DID come with a happy ending. If you buy it at costco you have to buy 85 at once and you can get a bit sore by the time you're done.

i used these on my wheels, and i have to say that it does a good job of cleaning them, my bike had lots of grease and tar, sprayed the product on let it sit for 5 minutes and it wiped off like nothing, its a great product for a 2in1

$55 for a membership just to buy a $30 detailer, when I figured we had some kind helpful friends on here that could pick me up some at their convenience next time they're just there getting groceries.

Nonetheless, I managed to have a friend pick me up some last night - very kind gentleman he is.

I tried to pick this product up yesterday at the Costco in the NW..the one on Sarcee.  Welp lets just say I asked everyone there and they all looked at me like I was a midget uckfaying a goat in a bunny costume, they had no clue and were baffled.  Even after I pulled my phone out and showed them the cosco.ca site and how it had the product on there, they all said we don't carry that......who makes it.....nope sure as heck don't carry it.  So just a heads up the one in the NW doesn't seem to carry it, I walked the whole bloody warehouse also to make sure it wasn't stuck somewhere stupid and couldn't find it.  So long story short I ordered it from the cosco site which isn't ideal since you have to wait 7-10 business days.  I suspect I could HAVE just drove to another location but I just said uckfay it since I know I can order the damn stuff online why bother.

Went to that costco last night to get it, but got there 15 minutes after they closed. Good to know. Thanks!
