Absolutely but they won't get him. Florida has not exactly kept it secret that they're entertaining offers for the 1st overall pick and even though Edmonton is flush with young talent, I doubt they're interested in giving up anything in addition to their 3rd overall to move up two spots. Just too expensive for 2 spots, even if it does mean getting Ekblad.

My first thought would be Yakupov, straight-up.  Probably won't happen though.

The guy is pretty talented, I'll give him that.  He would probably really excel in a different environment.  It's just that Edmonton has too many small skilled forwards already.  MacT has previously said he might have to do something bold.. Have yet to see it.

Thing is, he's only part of the problem. They need to get a better mix of youth and experience. The whole team needs a change in attitude, top to bottom.

A better team, on paper, regressed horribly from the previous 2 coaches.  They should have kept Kruger IMO.
