DIY $28 dollar Oil pressure sending unit relocation kit
« on: October 17, 2013, 10:15:38 am »
Just made a Oil pressure sender relocation kit . Didn't want to pay 50+ shipping . I have a Autometer OP gauge that im installing in the rear oil galley. reasoning being clearance issues for the sandwich and i didn't want to deal with the dummy light that is in the front Galley.

Here is what i used. :

$8           Grease Gun hose
$1           1/8 NPT female to female
$11         Subaru Oil galley plug               11024AA210
$.98        Subaru Oil galley plug gasket  037018200
$5           1/8 NPT female to male 1/8 BSPT
$1           Teflon tape
$1           Hose clamp

Total Cost : $28

here is a breakdown of how its put together , i haven't gotten the 2 suabru oem parts yet.

*note : sender unit has to be grounded , im doing it through the hose clamp to Chassis.

I did a similar thing with mine, only difference was I used a -3 braided line and some of the black anodized fittings. Much cheaper then getting one of the kits websites sell.
God must love crazy people, he made a lot of them.

I wish I did this.. the hose I got on ebay was only 12" long so I had no choice but to mount my sensor over the hot turbo. After about 2 months the autometer sensor started leaking oil all over so I had to remove it..

Greenline Hose will make this up for you in any length you want.
Cost me 12 bucks including hose, 2 proper ends, assembled.
