Nested Quotes?
« on: October 26, 2013, 02:45:04 pm »
When did nested quotes become a thing?
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.

The forum has handled them fine from the beginning.

That said, the "strip nested quotes" option is turned on so when you click the quote button it only inserts the top level of quotes into your post.  This is to prevent argument threads from quadrupling in length as everyone quotes each other (without reading each other).

However, you can still quote a couple people & edit where the [quote][/quote] tags end up.

That said, the "strip nested quotes" option is turned on to prevent argument threads from quadrupling in length so you have to do them _manually_.

I don't really see an issue with it..?

One of my posts became a nested quote automatically and it threw me off. That's why I asked. I knew about manually doing it and the auto removal.
