Yup. Backed it a long time ago during the initial kickstarter, for $65. Got my Green card and everything. So stoked.

I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.

Bump. Dogfighting module out soon. Just bumped my 300i to a 325. So glad I got alpha access.

If by similar you mean way more expansive, then yes.

Eve was dogfighting/ship stuff only.. By more expansive do you mean it is character driven or is it empire based?

"yes"

By the end, it's supposed to have almost everything. First person stuff, dogfighting, piracy, bounty hunters, mining, transport, etc, etc, etc. I highly recommend you check out the website. It's being done by the same guy that did Wing Commander back in the day.

Just bumped my 300i to a 325.

I was debating switching my 300i to either the 325a or the Avenger. 325a is winning at this point, more room for upgrades.

They said the goal for the dog fighting module was end of April so hopefully it'll come in the next few days >:D.

Fewer spreadsheets to manage.  :P

I bought the upgrade pack. I don't lose my alpha access. It's on top of my current package.

Is this one of those games that require real money to purchase upgrades/ships or can you do that with in game credits earned?

Quote
Is Star Citizen “free to play”? A subscription game?

To play Star Citizen you need only to buy the initial game. There will never be a monthly charge for usage. Some in-game items may be available as microtransactions, but we will NEVER sell anything that can’t be acquired through honest (and fun!) gameplay.

...

Can I upgrade to a bigger ship?

Yes! You will always have your ‘pledge’ ship which you can upgrade by pledging additional money through launch, and you can purchase and fly others to your heart’s content in the finished game. Star Citizen will feature plenty of other ships and we expect players will want to earn credits and figure out which suits their particular style of play best.

Dog fighting is going to be a gradual release, fully out in third week of May allegedly.

Pushed back a little further... I think the longer it takes the more unrealistic my expectations will grow. At least I have a towel in the hanger now  :P.

Anyone else find the hangar to be super inefficient in using the GPU? I launch it on low settings, and my not horrible graphics card gets insta-pegged to 100%. It's a 760.

I haven't looked into it heavily but I know my framerate is horrible no matter the graphic setting (same whether on high or low) with a 650GTX TI.

Anyone have multiplayer access yet? Single player is fun though, going to try it with a gamepad next. Also new 300i interior is sexy.

The choppiness is allegedly due to the fact that it's a screen cap off twitch and the cryengine doesn't handle streaming well.

Necro bump

Finall caved, pledged a package in this and downloaded it last night. Looks Like I need some research for my thrustmaster settings. Might try and play today if I have time after/before my other chores.
