Progress over the weekend in the form of an almost assembled LSD.

Drive:

Coast:

Pinion:

If you have opinions on my pinion ;) (paint pattern) I'll gladly take them as this is my first time messing with gears

Also...

Ordered the cheapest set of black silicone hoses I could find on ebay from China of course..
And I seem to have been sent Samco hoses lol
No mention of this on ebay as what I really wanted was a plain black hose with no logo.
But I guess these will do:

Quick picture from 10 minutes in the garage, too cold to do anything tonight but I threw the hoses on to give a look of where I am at now.

It's kind of sad how most of us are spending 15-20 grand on a car, and will never be satisfied..
Where you're doing it, with a quarter of that budget, and will enjoy the car more than most of us...
And majority of us on this thread are extremely jealous of your project.

Part of the reason I've stuck with relatively new cars compared to the cars I really want to work on is that I don't have enough cash to work on older cars. :)

Even before they hit the collector market it's still brutal to track down parts and techniques.

This couldn't be more true, I'm having a harder and harder time tracking down parts, luckily I've got good connections in Vancouver where the old school toyota scene is quite massive.
Then there's the learning curve to working on them, yes I have an FSM but when putting on aftermarket parts there are almost never installing guides that are in english lol

But in the end I think I'll feel like this was well worth the hassle, it'll be almost a one of a kind car, that I've built on my own.

But anyway..

Over the past week, rear axle housing is back in the car!
But it needs to come partially out again because I couldn't read my Japanese install manual for the coilovers and I need to modify the factory bump stop...

But this weekend should bring some good progess, if I had a set of wheels/tires I could probably take it for a little drive..
Still no exhaust though or body panels, exhaust is en route in my JZX100 coming from Japan right now :)

Pictures over the weekend most likely...

Long overdue update here, but here's where the car sits after the last 2 weeks.

Finished up the front suspension:

Then went on to the front bearings/hubs, all new OEM parts except for the stay washers which I made myself:

Finished up the engine, still need to install my new trans and engine mounts though:

Then came the rear axle/diff/suspension install:

Then the body work began..
Rear Bumper:

Front end:

And that's where she sits!

Carbon parts didn't fit perfectly but to be honest, they went on a lot easier than expected.

And I suck at taking progress pictures, so usually everything is taken when I'm done haha get wayyy to into it

Your headlight is the wrong colour.
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.
If you're having forum problems, I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but your post ain't one.

Good progress dude! Can not wait to see it in action!
I love long walks on the beach with my girlfriend, until the LSD wears off and I realize I'm just dragging a stolen mannequin around a Wendy's parking lot.

This thing is still coming along great. I can't believe you can still see the factory overspray in the wheel wells.
