Any bakers/wedding cake makers here?
« on: February 12, 2014, 01:25:58 pm »
I just moved to the Calgary area from Ontario, and am looking for recommendations on good places to buy boxes and boards.

Thanks!

rude
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.
If you're having forum problems, I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but your post ain't one.

I think Micheal's (craft store) has that kind of stuff. I've also seen some at Bulk Barn. Not sure of the quality since I don't ever make pretty cakes, just delicious ones.
If you want a WSC License plate frame, PM me. Now available in black with white lettering!

I have used Bulk Barn in the past when I was in pinch, but it's pretty far from me now (how is there only 1 here?!?).  Michael's is more expensive, but works when I have a coupon.  I used to have a supplier called GT French Paper that restaurants ordered from, but anyone could go in and pick up all sorts of things - boards, boxes, muffin cups, loaf liners, piping bags....  I was really hoping to find something like that out here.

Thanks Jesse and Lakelouise... The hobbycraft has lots of great stuff.  I'll be sure to check out SAIT when I'm in the area!
