Front Struts (235411 km)
After replacing the bushings in the front LCA I started noticing a creak coming form the drivers side strut during slow full lock turns. I
re-organized my garage so that it was more comfortable to work on the car and started to pull the front end apart.
Removed and disassembled the struts, re-greased the tophat bearing, removed surface rust and sprayed them down with fluid film:
Just in case the top self locking nuts were backing off because they were tired I installed some new ones:
Really, what is the point of this thing? I've been driving around without it now for months and I can barely tell the difference with it installed:
Lots of swearing involved during the re-install as the captive nuts threads had rusted a touch.
