I had a similar issue at launch for the XB1. I finally hit lvl 20 last night, time to start getting better gear. As per usual, feel free to add me - XBL - LilDrunkenSmurf

I think I'm level 7, how does it work if we would join up as a fireteam or whatever?  Would I be playing missions way above my level or would you be coming down?  I still don't really understand this game all that well haha, though I have been enjoying.

Well, if we teamed up, we would just chat about which mission we wanted to do. We can try to get you to run one of the high level ones, do a lower level one, do some strikes, or PVP.

How about multiplayer?  Do any of you guys know if you're actually a higher level, does it affect the amount of damage you do to your opponents with lower level weapons/armour etc.?

Cause if that's the case, there must not be a lot of damage differences between the weapons because i'm consistently able to get a positive k/d even with my lower level weapons.

I think in most, if not all multi player modes the level bonuses or whatever they call it is deactivated so everyone does the same damage.

Yeah, you just need to be smarter. The game also caps how much higher you can play outside your bracket. When I was lvl 5, I couldn't join a lvl 11 that was playing, because of level restrictions.

And yes, there's equalizations in multiplayer, however higher level characters will have more skills unlocked.

Level 18 now and finished the story missions last night. I'm going to try to add everyone in this thread today, the level 26 raid was released and people are saying it's a blast to play. I need some more friends to form a raid group hah.

Starting playing this at a friend's house after he raved on and on about it for the last week or so.

Holy crap, I'm pleased, so picked it up... I feel it's gonna be a lot like Borderlands and killing the same thing over and over to get better loot.
