Did the Fort MacLeod Auto X on the weekend. Not as good a showing as I've had in the past, but it was the perfect day for it, and had a great time anyways (as usual). Had a bit of a moment coming out of one element and into another. Thought I had it, but decided two feet in was the better course of action and left some big tire marks on the air strip. I was a little worried about a flat spot due to the very abrasive nature of the tarmac, and the higher than normal pressures I run in my tires. But after another lap, and the drive home, they seem fine.
Managed to get the BRZ bump stops installed, as it's a noted fix for the trunk paint issue on VA's. I haven't noticed the issue on my car in particular; and and being totally wingless, not even the lip spoiler, may have something to do with it. The new bump stops are noticably taller, and require more effort to close the trunk. Before, I could basically let it fall closed and it would latch, it now requires a solid thunk to close properly. Piece of mind for a known issue anyways...
New BRZ stop on the left, original VA WRX stop on the right.
This Friday I'll be paying a visit to Steve at Kal Tire to get some Hakka 8's mounted on my OEM Enkei wheels for winter. I'm looking forward to these, as I've never driven on studded tires before. They should make Ice racing even more fun this winter!
