I can confirm Chris nearly took out every cone in the slalom on one run, I was running cones there  :o

Haha, thankfully that was the run I got a rerun on due to timing malfunction!

Yes, I think I took out every cone in the slalom in one run.

Some would say your performance was... MAGNETIC. You certainly VENTED your frustrations on another run.  ;)

My front bumper was the bearer of my poor performance in the morning runs unfortunately.  I felt like I completely forgot how to drive a damn car after doing those runs.

:P yeah then I still think you coned your re-run just not as bad.

Lol, yeah. Unfortunately still picked up 2 cones, I think, that run. It was faster than my fastest clean run by a second, but the penalties killed it. According to Reijo, if you aren't hitting cones, you aren't trying hard enough!

What if you are running them over with the front of your car.  I think that means you are trying even less...

Just remembered, I did beat a Ferrari 458 Spyder today at AutoX. Adding that to the resume along with first formal results protest lodged...

Make sure if you add it that is notes the driver of said 'rarri is also the CEO of a certain motorsports park for extra credit.

I just want to give him all the respects for being awesome enough, and a good sport to actually go for a lap in it. He's the type of guy I wish more super car owners were like. Probably everyone had a smile at that thing go by. Sounded better than Tom's car...  :D

Nah -- that's just a request for a correction of an error.  We do get errors in registration and classing, and I try to fix them as soon as I know about them.

As for the Miata, that car is *amazing*.  Never feel bad about getting beat by that car, no matter who is driving.

Fair enough, I guess it happens sometimes.

I don't feel bad about getting beaten by any of the cars that finished ahead of me. Actually, I feel pretty good about where I finished and the cars that I did finish ahead of. I'm quite happy with it and I think I'm starting to get a better feel for the car now. The last run felt awesome, and I took a good bit of time out of my previous best. I'll have to move up to some better tires next year and shave a little more time off!

more pics, as requested. This is pretty much it, Pittsburgh was a weekend of debauchery, so there isn't much photographic evidence of that at the urging of our lawyer.

Same spot as the first pic (ND/MT border at sunrise):

It's actually not the itsholeshay I thought it would be.

Nah, just 1 night each way. I was able to find a cheap hotel the other night, but MT/ND border area was difficult to find a cheap and vacant room. If I'd spent a bit more time planning, I'm sure it would have worked out a little better, but it wasn't too bad for a night on the way out, and a night on the way back. The other night each way I spent in Wisconsin, tons of cheap motels.

Hakka 8's ordered for winter. Looking forward to tearing up Ghost Lake with those!

Haven't run into any of the issues Rich has mentioned in his thread, kinda wondering if any of that is due to the fact that I've got the plain Jane base model WRX, and he's got one with the crazy features.

Did the Fort MacLeod Auto X on the weekend. Not as good a showing as I've had in the past, but it was the perfect day for it, and had a great time anyways (as usual). Had a bit of a moment coming out of one element and into another. Thought I had it, but decided two feet in was the better course of action and left some big tire marks on the air strip. I was a little worried about a flat spot due to the very abrasive nature of the tarmac, and the higher than normal pressures I run in my tires. But after another lap, and the drive home, they seem fine.

Managed to get the BRZ bump stops installed, as it's a noted fix for the trunk paint issue on VA's. I haven't noticed the issue on my car in particular; and and being totally wingless, not even the lip spoiler, may have something to do with it. The new bump stops are noticably taller, and require more effort to close the trunk. Before, I could basically let it fall closed and it would latch, it now requires a solid thunk to close properly. Piece of mind for a known issue anyways...

New BRZ stop on the left, original VA WRX stop on the right.

This Friday I'll be paying a visit to Steve at Kal Tire to get some Hakka 8's mounted on my OEM Enkei wheels for winter. I'm looking forward to these, as I've never driven on studded tires before. They should make Ice racing even more fun this winter!
