Don't worry the brackets will be primed and painted as well. I am not a savage haha.
Good, good. I was starting to twitch when I saw them bare MS.

Wow - love the FMIC install, and the fact that you have a crash bar at that. I'll be getting one welded up for the support of the bumpers, and even more so.. safety.

Looking really good so far. And impressive.

Thanks man. For what I paid for this kit I am extremely happy. FYI it isn't the retail price on the turbo xs kit :)  I am thinking about keeping my crash bar and modifying it one day to get the best of both worlds with the front mount.

Another set back found as well. My front O2 sensor is dead :( Worked when i parked it. Must have dropped it or something when I swapped headers.

Car is getting closer, I haven't been going balls to the wall on it rushing to get it done, mostly just putzing on it.  Still waiting on a damn throttle body coupler that is supposed to come in.

But really threads are worthless without pictures so here are some!
ELH on the motor!

Too bad the headers are hidden and can't be enjoyed.  They look AWESOME.

Got the car running last night! I made a rookie mistake and used an impact on my stock O2 sensor. DO NOT DO THIS! There is glass in them because they're piezoelectric sensors. Glass breaks, heater circuit dies. 150 dollar lesson. Also my Perrin Throttle body coupler showed up!

Hope to maybe get the bumper on and driving tonight! But in the mean time here is a quick sound test!

I know right!

Got the car insured and the bumper all cut and fitting with the front mount last night. Gonna drive it tonight after I finish putting in the plastic clips for the bumper.

Hoping for a lot more snapping and popping!

Long overdue update, but here is what I've done with the car over winter.
AEM X Series Oil Pressure Gauge

Super hot idle (fan wouldn't cycle off, coolant at 218F)

Also got a very good deal on some Tein Coilovers

Before

After

And the I got the loud valve because of an Amazon pricing mistake :D I had an extra 3 bolt up pipe so I took a stab at fitting the EWG on myself, turned out okay. Dump tube works but it is only temporary for this summer because next year I have other plans :)

Big update, and by big, I mean big turbo time.  Upgrading to a rotated setup now, going with a Borgwarner S257 SXE, so basically it is a journal bearing EFR 7670. Same wheels, just journal bearing.  Exhaust side is a single scroll T3 0.63 housing.

I'll fabricate the downpipe and boost piping myself, but for the up pipe life is easy.

Going to put one of these on.

Which will have the turbo sit like this in my engine bay.  This car has the exact same turbo but with the bigger hotside. Being that Edmonton and Calgary are a lot higher in altitude I went with the smaller hotside for better spool and street manners. For what its worth this car did 565whp on e85. I will be using meth so I am excited to see what it does!

In the process of booking an appointment with Airboy. Looking at the end of May. Going to set up a "Flex Meth" kit. Flip the arm switch, ecu sees 5v at the TGV sensor and map switches using the E85 tables. Much easier than reflashing a pump gas map or a pump+meth map.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Made some good progress last night with some buddies. I'm very far out of practice with welding (I don't own one), so if it breaks, it breaks.

Tacked up

Bracket added to bolt to the trans. I do not have the factory trans bracket as my 6 speed never had one installed.

Welded up and installed. Probably going to heat wrap it.

Next up is oil drain line.

Another update. Brought my charging piping to my friend to get welded. EWG is done, turbo drain is done. All that is left is the cylinder 4 cooling mod, coolant tank relocation, and wiring and plumbing in the meth.

Overdue update.

Build isn't dead in the water. I have slowly been plugging away at this.  I really took my time with the install because I wanted it to be the least intrusive to the car. I really don't like doing hard modifications if I can avoid it.

So for the wiring I am going to set it up that when I turn on meth, the ECU will map switch automatically to the meth map thanks to Cobbs flex fuel add on. The ecu will see 5v when the meth is turned on, making it think there is 100% ethanol in the fuel.  With this functionality I can also incorporate AEM's failsafe so that if there is any issue it will map switch to the straight pump gas map.  All you need is 2 relays to accomplish this with AEM's Boost Safe wire. 5v will be coming from the TGV power connector.

Well the car is all buttoned up, now to wait for May 24th   :-[

I got my machinist buddy at work to whip me up a really quick adapter for a fuel pressure sensor adapter.. Worked really good. I also deleted the engine bay evap stuff since it was leaking during a boost leak test.

As far as the pressure sensor goes I grabbed a cheap pressure transducer from Amazon. It works as it should (35psi at idle which is correct under vacuum) but longevity could be questionable so I will guinea pig it.

Here is a short clip of everything working. Map switching for meth and the fuel pressure sensor.

Dyno reads very low, and as all of you know it is just a tool. We stopped at 26psi because my crappy tires were deflecting a lot under load (it was seen under wheel speed on the dyno and it was not even close to linear) so we weren't seeing much more gains as we turned it up, it also could be the reason why the numbers appear low.

Clucking bell. It comes on around the same rpm as a stock STi then it's holyshitwtfbbq, white knuckled and then over in 1000rpm. Say goodbye to your tires.

Yeah this turbo is legit and it cost 1100 canadian with hotside!  I was telling Sunny I call it the poor mans EFR since it is a Journal Bearing 7670. I was really happy to see it come on that soon considering it is roughly a 3576 sized turbo.

Because we do not have e85 the 0.63 hotside is perfect with pump and meth. And yeah it spins first pretty hard in the dry. 2nd can feel greasy.

Then in the wet it is just dumb.
