FS Forum question
« on: August 10, 2014, 01:25:17 pm »
It's said to leave up your add/not delete info after your car is sold...
I keep clicking threads of cars that interest me to buy and then several posts down it turns out its sold.  Is this not a minor waste of my time?  Maybe I'm missing something - very possible.

If the seller would lock the thread that would be better and what is expected of someone.

Your definition of "epic" may be different from mine.
There is only ~1 page (50) of active vehicle FS topics, currently.
Half of those are locked.

Topic starters can lock their own threads, and should be doing that.
If they don't, the thread will get tombstone locked after the 30 days of inactivity as stated in the rules.

So to sum up: Don't look at locked threads expecting them to still be FS.
The ones that aren't locked... are probably the same ones that still have a kijiji ad that you would waste your time clicking.

The only thing I hate, on any forum, is when people bump their own thread to say it's sold. Especially if it's an item I've been looking for.

Oh for real?  I do it all the time, thinking I was being heroically courteous.

If it's locked, I assume it's no longer for sale, so if they bump, say it's sold, and close it, doesn't bother me.
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.
If you're having forum problems, I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but your post ain't one.

I see - I'm used to looking for **SOLD** (or similar) in the title like in most used car/items sites.  I wasn't looking for the lock as an indicator as you could still pm the seller..maybe..?

Perfect - thanks :)
Also, I changed that word that people have been over-using and misusing for the last three years or so for you.

Hmm.. I just think if it's in the title saying sold, then I don't have to click it in the first place.  I hear ya though.

Hah, :)

Thanks for the responses.
