I am probably one of the biggest beer snobs you'll ever meet.

Personally I love our local Alberta beers, especially Wild Rose (Velvet Fog, Brown Ale).

For imports it is totally New Castle, Old Speckled Hen, a lot of Bock style beers like Fax.

There are so many good beers out there it is hard to narrow them down to even a few :P

I'd like to change my answer here.

The best beer is the beer thats in my stomach, reducing hateful thoughts and bringing peace to my world.

No, if it's cheaper than pop, it's not meant to be loved. Big Bear and Colt 45 are what beer does when it dies.

u should try eating a piece of chocolate right after a sip.......soooo good! learned that from the food and wine show a while back.  the combination tastes better than those chocolate cherries (and i dont even like those ) :D. but i havent seen it in ages either.

Red Maple beer. No longer brewed as I think Northern Breweries of Sault St. Marie is out of business.

http://www.thebeerguy.ca/shop/products/beer/brands/northern_red_maple.php?bid=21128&

It was actually brewed with a touch of maple syrup, obviously had a sweet taste to it. Fantastic. I had it in the bustling metropolis of Wawa, Ontario.

I just came back from a Caribbean cruise where I tried about 7 different carib beers (Carib, Piton, Stag, Banks, Polar, Red Stripe, Balashi) - they all stunk. The only one I liked even a bit was Banks. The Aruba beer Balashi is brewed by the same people that make the local distilled/bottled water. No word of a lie - I couldn't tell the difference between them. Weakest beer I've ever had.

If you like the maple beers then you should try Sap Vampire. It is brewed in Edmonton. Pretty tasty.  :)

Ok so I'm regularly super beer snob and don't really sway away from it unless it is for a good bourbon. But lately I have been drinking a hell of a lot of Bulmers Cider. Not sure if anybody has had it here but wow is it ever amazing. I highly recommend you go and grab some :)

I'm too lazy to read back 5 pages so if it's already been posted then I agree with you!

Innis & Gunn - not the cheapest beer but it is damn good!

Fruili - not really beer... a very girly strawberry "beer" but it is VERY tasty and I'll openly admit to enjoying it on many occasions!

I went out looking at mountain bikes, which always makes me want beer (beer and burritos after a ride, yo!).  I pulled one out of the fridge when I got home and went to look at some reviews online with my buddy.  I grabbed a Wild Rose India Pale Ale, which someone had left from a party.  I never will again.  I like bitter beers, but this tasted like ear wax.  So I got a Carlsburg out to cleanse the pallet.  Much better.

I first tried Bulmers in England a few months ago and I've been a huge fan ever since.

The same thing happend to me with the first Guinness I had there too.
