It's only like three bucks in Canadian Tire money. I stopped collecting it once I realized my credit card cashback was larger.

Weekend work consisted of further engine tear down:

Yup, it's a Ford.

Remove all the gaskets.

Heads up!

ugh.
Question for any engine guys: one crankshaft journal is tapered right to max spec. two more are grooved deep enough to feel with my fingertip.
Should I re-grind/undersize it?
pretty sure I should, I just dont want to sepnd the $200. and then have to use oversize bearings.

The taper is fine as long as the min size is in spec, but if you can feel grooves, they are likely deeper than the min spec. The machine shop should be able to measure the depth of the grooves with a ball end mic and give a recommendation from there. Chances are good you'll need a re-grind and polish..

New piston time. Going with stock type forged flat top I guess.
If I want to supercharge, I can just change heads I think.

Nah.
That's probably the best idea, but since I've already bought a junk engine for a k, I'm gonna foolishly go all in instead of just folding like I should.

Besides, new o/s pistons, rings, crank, arp rod bolts, bored block, o/s bearings, cam rod & main bearings, all built by precise probably won't sell for nothing after 2 years of racing, as long as I don't blow it up. I'll just buy a spark cut box to protect all those valuable rotate-ey bits.

I have an extra set of arp rod bolts for the stock rods if you want to save a couple bucks on that. NIB... or NIpackagethingy  :P

I am neither very smart nor very financially responsible.

I'll post up some pics of the work soon. Good luck trying not to pop a raging clue after seeing those...

Today we begin sub operation: Crazy-Thunder. It's gonna be just like that time the crazy Chinese doctor harvested organs in a dirty Hong Kong alley.

This car has just gone full mad-man. I like it.

That's kinda what happened with mine, original plan...install a 2.3L with EFI to keep the car light and cheap on fuel....EFI is a pain in the assay.....buy 5.0L out of a truck to throw in with a carb.....engine had a bad cam bearing...rebuilds are expensive......find 331 stroker for sale.....sure why not. And I think the same thing happened with the rear diff and a few other things on the car.
God must love crazy people, he made a lot of them.

We worked the assay of the T-Bird real hard.

The journey begins with this magnificent find in the truck on the way down to Lethbridge.

So many beige.

Steelies with no tires meant we had to pull it free with the truck.

No guts.

This is the prize we were after.

Great success!

His sway bar is so thick, the ladies love it.

No assay. Pretty much the ultimate cracker mobile with so much honkey assay.

The uckfay, Pick'N'Pull?

Stance Jesus approves of this message.

Tell me a little more about that bedless blue Ford truck.

It weighs a metric uckfay-tonne. And it has a sick solid front axle. It's parked somewhere near Lethbridge. It's blue and its cab is full of itshay.
