Hey Everyone,

We have been watching the BRZ and FRS forced induction market for some time and prepared ourselves last year by setting up to tune these cars with EcuTek.  We took factory training with EcuTek last year specifically on the BRZ / FRS Platform as well.  We have had some really excellent results and feel this makes the car MUCH better then factory and wanted to start with an introductory sale!  We have tested both the Innovate and the Vortech Kit's but the cars were a little different so I'll list the basic mods of each car first.

2013 Subaru BRZ
-Bone Stock
-Innovate Supercharger kit with Intercooler
-Upgrade 70mm Pulley (to compensate for our higher altitude)
-Tuned with Husky 94

2013 Scion FRS
-Borla Un-Equal Length headers
-ISIS Catback Exhaust
-Vortech Intercooled Supercharger kit (version 2) with higher boost pulley
-Tuned with Husky 94

As you can see in the above dyno charts the Innovate kit makes more power (40-86whp) and more torque everywhere (60-90ft/lbs!) across the powerband.  This is because Screw type superchargers (Innovate) can build the maximum boost nearly instantaneously where as a Centrifugal Supercharger (Vortech) only makes peak boost at peak RPM.  Even though both supercharger kits output similar peak power, the Innovate car will in general accelerate much faster as it's generating more power and torque everywhere else.  This really amplifies the stock car's natural powerband at any rpm or load.  This car feels much better then OEM and in our opinion is the way it should have come from the factory!  More power then most stage 2 WRX's with a very linear predictable torque curve, just like a larger displacement naturally aspirated car.

This will really depend on how you drive.  If you drive really easy you should be able to achieve around the same economy, but if you drive it hard you will burn more fuel.

I will try to post something in this thread once I start DD'ing the car on summers. First impression was "gee, that fuel gauge drops pretty quick", but now that I'm driving a little more sensibly and not punching it to hear the SC whine I'm seeing better economy. Plus, this is probably the first tank of fuel where the car hasn't been run to redline on a dyno.

I've only listened to it from the outside at idle with the hood up. It's not as imposing as when you're inside the cab with the windows up and no road noise blasting your ear drums. It sounds pretty sweet then - very addictive and you catch yourself giving it gas just to hear the whine.

The BRZ is amazing - it feels so smooth to ride in compared to what I'm used to driving everyday. Supercharger sounds awesome, and the car sets you back in your seat the way the STI does. I am sold. Damn you. Damn you!!

It's absolutely intoxicating, having the power available on-call. I found the powerband to be very similar/fast as Zaider's S4, but in a much lighter, nimbler car (that's also RWD instead of a heavy AWD system). The biggest difference was that ridiculous torque down low.

The whine is subtle, but there, kind of how you can hear the air intake on a Subaru w/ a cone filter. Keep in mind that Asstuna's BRZ is not only pushing fantastic numbers, but that's with a stock exhaust. I can only imagine installing a 3" pipe all the way down will free up at least a little more power.
