2.5 na long crank time
« on: October 29, 2014, 12:52:04 pm »
Hi starting to have a problem with a 2.5 na. It seems when it sits for 24 hours or longer it needs to crank for a while before it starts. Once it starts it runs as normal, starting if it sits for a few hours is as normal. Makes no difference if the tank is full or or near empty. Fuel pump is not making any unusual noises.
Fuel pressure regulator? Fuel filter? (The filter is only 20k kms old).
Anybody experienced this?

Try a new battery.

it will crank at good speed, and the battery is relatively new, and it load tests fine, and the standing voltage is good. it just takes a while to start. (sometimes the remote starter gives up on the first try, then it starts on the second try) I have doubts that it is the battery... but I guess I could just switch out with one of my other cars to see...

Possibly fuel related...theres a check valve in the fuel system to hold pressure when you shut down...if thats leaking it typically causes long cranks as the fuel pump needs to build pressure...havent run into it on my subaru so not sure where its located
