Darn tasty beer, but also the first _agressively_ carbonated one that I had issues pouring.

Heavily malty at first, with a hoppy/IPA taste that comes in later.

Mine as well.

I'm a day behind,  and had the luxury of knowing this was a sour beer going in.  I was prepared for something different and actually am enjoying it now.  It's big,  it's bold,  and it's different.  I actually like the similarity to a sweet white wine and citrus.  I wasn't keen on it exploding everywhere,  but I can see myself enjoying one again.

Did anyone else find weird yeast-y bits in the foam of the beer?

For an IPA, it was a good beer no doubt.  Towards the end though, the bitterness really came out.

Day 8 of 24:

Weltenburger Kloster - Anno 1050

Description - The classic Märzen beer of the world´s oldest Abbey Brewery.

Cultivated, elegant, golden yellow, excellently brewed on the basis of sophisticated, traditional recipes, a full-bodied balance of fine hops and energizing bitter-sweetness.

Not sure if this is today's correct beer as there were two of them in the slot (December 20 must have fallen down).

That is the correct beer.

or at least "the same one I got".

Looks good, and very German based on how short the ingredients list is...

Good German beer.

3 ingredients, dark amber colour, tasty.

(everyone else is decanting the beer into a glass, right?)

Day 9 of 24:

Cucapa Honey

We had Cucapa's Obscura last year and I quite enjoyed it.  Glad to see another offering from this brewery.

Day 5 of 24:

Birrificio Del Ducato - Krampus Speciale

From Birrificio - High fermentation beer fermented in the bottle. Deep amber color with reddish reflections, has cream-colored foam, fine grain. Bouquet: complex aromatic notes with hints of candied fruit (citrus, orange), spices (pepper, anise, nutmeg) and balsamic notes. The taste is warm, full and with a noticeable sweetness.

If the brewery sounds familiar to you it's because we had two of their beers(Golden Ale & Chimera) in the first advent calendar.

Late to the party.

I actually yelled out WHOO! when i took the first sip.  Took another felt it was not bad but the way it was suppose to taste.  I like it.  I had Jessie try (she is NOT a beer drinker), she found it interesting and even said it doesn't taste like regular beer.

Was it carbonated?

Lightly.  Not the first beer I've tried that seemed to be "flat".

Day 9 of 24:

Cucapa Honey

My wife really liked this Honey Beer.

I didn't find anything special in the taste, but the odor was nicely honey based...

It was a tasty beer but there was nothing that really stood out about it.

Day 11 of 24:

Wäls Tropical Christmas Saison

Love the look of the label.  It has a postcard/stamp feel to it.

Looking at the ingredients, it has raisins, figs, coriander, and orange peel.  Can't wait to try it.

Review:  Not bad and not in my top 5 for the calendar so far.

For such a long list of ingredients I'm having trouble tasting anything special about this... It's beer, that's it.

Day 12 of 24:

Big Sky Brewing Company - Biere De Noel

"Strong ale" wasn't overstating things at 10% abv...  Tasty, crisp.  Appropriately strong for the holidays.
