Cosworth stage 2 power package for BRZ/FR-S
« on: November 05, 2014, 03:07:08 pm »
It seems Cosworth released a Stage 2 power package for the BRZ/FR-S.

Stumbled across this on my FB newsfeed, posted by rallysportdirect.

http://www.rallysportdirect.com/Cosworth-20046685-Stage-2-Power-Package-Subaru-BRZ-2013-2014-Scion-FR-S-2013-2014

I wonder if they'll do something similar for the turbo variant in the 15 WRX.

EDIT: Thanks for moving the thread Grant. I wasn't sure if this belonged somewhere else, since I was just making an observation on the availability of the kit. I didn't want to risk cluttering other threads.

Was not impressed with price or claimed horsepower, its sure looks nice though.

I can't see them doing that for a 2015 wrx you would need to include a crap more parts to make something like that work. Turbo vs supercharger

A bigger turbo, a J-pipe, an intake and an intercooler. Plus what ever else they think might be necessary to include in there, which I don't think would be too many other things.
Seeing their price point on this supercharger power kit, I don't think it's impossible that we'll see a Cosworth kit for the turbo FA20 down the road. Then again, it could be wishful thinking.

But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.

What?  I am happy I went with the Kraftwerks kit vs Innovate or something else.  And I got a good deal too.  I just wish I had more money for my brakes and such before next spring.

I got 80hp on my Innovate. Kraftwerks should do better

Are they the same kind of supercharger? The Kraftwerks Miata kit using a centrifugal supercharger.

I went with the bigger blower too for some down the road just in case planning.

Rotrex C38-81 is what I am going with in the Kraftwerks kit.

So centrifugal. That's different from what Asstuna has. Yours will likely make more power, but have less of that big engine throttle response and feel.

Yep mine is Centrifugal.  Hoping for 250WHP with full exhaust as well but we will see.

It's basically a belt-driven turbocharger. Lots of Miata guys have Kraftwerks kits.

I am aware.  I wish it would make the roots whine though  :(

I had a roots style blower on my Miata, sounded amazeballs.

Various complications, including I wouldn't pay that much got the Cosworth stuff and there's only one other roots style option and other reasons I cant divulge.
