2015 Formula 1
« on: January 29, 2015, 09:31:09 am »
Well, it's 2015, new cars are being released. The season gets underway in less than 2 months.

The McLaren Honda was released today.

http://blackflag.jalopnik.com/the-2015-mclaren-honda-this-is-it-1682510729/1682513313/+matthardigree

I'm a little disappointed with the livery. I wasn't one hoping for a throwback to the Senna McLaren Honda MP4/4 days,
but I feel like the grey/black/silver with a shot of colour is drab, boring, and overdone these days. They could have gone
with some white which is the traditional Honda racing colour.

ITS SO PRETTY
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.

Marlborough ain't comin' back to Macca. Especially not now that they've got a guy in charge at Fezza.

Yessss, I was waiting for someone to start one of these. I've been reading all of the updates from the F1 app, and i'm excited to see how things roll this season. I for one like the silver look of the Mclaren Honda.... for now.... I'm waiting to see all of the cars, and then i'll make my judgments.

Saw that earlier. Even though it's early days, it's nice to see Kimi doing better than he did last season. I see your boyo Danny Ric is starting to bring that car around, bit of trouble for them at the first test. Now if we only knew who was sand-bagging and who was on the ragged edge. Still winter testing is the worst judge of performance, we'll see soon enough when they get to 'Straya

With the Australian GP taking place this weekend, here's a fair and honest look at the upcoming season: http://sniffpetrol.com/2015-formula-1-guide/#.VQM5jY7F_ch

Anyone have any opinions on the Van Der Garde/ Sauber saga? I still can't believe Kaltenborn is a lawyer and let this happen.

Watching the practice today, Ferrari was doing really well, with Vettel and Raikkonen consistently near the top

Goddamn that Sniffpetrol link is amazing

Quote
Meanwhile, rumours suggest Kimi Raikkonen is revitalised to the point where he sometimes knows where he is and who Ferrari are, and maybe even pretends to give a itshay about either of these things. After sacking pretty much everyone who works there, the team is now led by a new, highly motived management team, although this story was written over an hour ago and things have probably changed by now.

Here's a decent article for anyone who's unfamiliar with the current court case between Sauber and Giedo van der Garde. http://www.f1technical.net/news/19961

Man... Go Nasr.

Also poor Verstappen. Can't believe he's 17. I wish I was a 17 year old F1 driver.

Every time I watch 14 year old snowboarders sending it off 60 foot jumps landing triple backflips I feel the same way.

Anyways, back onto topic... I thought it was a pretty solid race. My F1 app seemed to glitch out towards the end, and it told me Kvyat won lol. That sort of freaked me out for a sec.

Any of you use the F1 app on your phones? Does anyone pay to get the upgraded package?

I use it. But I never watch live, so I never check the app til after the race.

I was hoping to hit Montreal this year, but it doesn't look like I can find a dog sitter, and flights are getting more and more expensive. Looking at potentially going to an international one, but I'm not sure which. Monaco would be amazing, but $$$.

Race was a bit of a snoozefest, but it was nice to see Vettel and Kimi do well until he retired.  Judging by the ridiculous gap between Mercedes and everyone else... the interesting part this year will be the battle for the last podium spot, unless the Hamilton/Rosberg rivalry get's going again, last season people sort of acted like the championship was decided at the start of the season, but it really was down to the last few races.
I used to drive Subaru's.
