JDM Vehicle Finds
« on: March 03, 2015, 05:46:01 pm »
I figure since I seem to come up with some interesting finds on the auction websites for our vehicles, I might as well start a thread for them. Feel free to post any JDM auction finds here, as it may come in handy for people looking to import straight from Japan!

There was a 22B posted today in auction! 65,000 Kms, 4 grade. Starting price around $18,000 CAD.

You can expect that to hit around $40,000 or better....my other house can't sell fast enough...lol
The car is worth about $12,000 but I got about $12,000 in parts now. Once they're all installed the car should be worth about $10,000.. Car guy math

I wouldn't be surprised if it came out to more than that. They don't come by often though!

Last 22b I saw for sale was two years ago, and went for 57 grand. The 22b is just like the nsx R, in that only die hard fans are willing to pay that much for a car that old in contrast with the performance it has to offer.

Here's an interesting Ver 4 type R. Looks really clean (other than some roof fade), and it seems to come with an extra set or wheels in the back!

Ive been looking at this one for the past 2 weeks, im surprised its not sold. I'd think the body would be in better shape for a car with 55k

Not to distract from this tread, as I think it's cool and I will be following it but a question has come to mind...

Been toying with ideas for my next purchase and I see there are a number of LHD vehicles that hit these auctions as well.

Moving along that line of thinking, what differences, if any, would there be to North American LHD vehicles?  I suspect none - but does anyone have any experience in this?

For example, I was toying with getting a LHD Brabus Mercedez-Benz or a BMW M3 in 2002 when the next restyle became available for import to Canada...

Cheers,

Doug

I've been thinking of getting a Nissan Silvia s15 but the bug eye has been swaying my pipe dreams! To be honest, I think I'd be okay with one that had some minor body damage. I want to learn how to do bodywork

I've kind of been contemplating taking a change on this: https://www.tradecarview.com/used_car/japan%20car/subaru/impreza/16033586/
But at the same time, it looks to be fairly modified which makes me curious whether or not is has been bagged on or whatever.

I've also stumbled upon this: http://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/edmonton/1996-subaru-impreza-wrx-sti-type-ra-sedan/1051754981?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

It's already here in town, only has 44,000 kms, its a ver 2 (which I really like), its an RA, and doesn't look like it has much done to it. All great pluses for me. I've contacted the owner, and hopefully i'll be able to get some more info on it soon.

Nick is planning to sell his RA....

Nicks Blue STI RA was sent to auction through insurance, and he took a buyout. As for the other white one he had, i'm just not too particularly interested in it. If I go RA, I want the roof vent.

When I used to go to Vancouver island a lot, these guys always seemed to have lots of LHD cars from Japan...
I looked at a few cars but never dealt with them.

Not a Subaru, but:

Someone buy this.
The 3 is raw.  Lighter than more agile.  The 6 probably feels like a 747.  And by that contrast, my STI probably feels like the Hindenburg.  So GR's are like the International Space Station.

Here is that car. How much they go for is anyone's guess, but they aren't cheap. This one sold for 3,150,000 yen (about 33k) (and it is a different year with more kms, and looks stroked to a 3.0L... but both are heavily modified):

Since these links will be useless in a couple weeks here are some pics:

You mean Jimmy's?
If the sea was vodka, and I was a duck.
I would swim to the bottom, and drink my way up.
But the sea isn't vodka, and I'm not a duck.
So give me the vodka, and stfu.
If you're having forum problems, I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but your post ain't one.
